  1. Oh wow .206 to .205, that is quite a difference, we need to play Margot every day every day with that batting average.
  2. Or we give Julien, Kirilloff and Larnach opportunities against LH pitching and maybe we find out they can do better than the 0 for 15 pinch hitter. You need to develop players for the season not just one game.
  3. He is 0 for 15, no hits and yet we continue to run him out there as a pinch hitter. That is a great strategy being employed there.
  4. Margot is now 0 for 15 pinch hitting and yet this is considered a strategic move. At what point do you say it's not working and stick with the guy already in the game.
  5. I read today that he was negotiating with MLB and this is the conclusion they reached. He hadn't umpired since May 9th.
  6. At some point someone has to be accountable for all the young players not making the leap to full time contributors. Is the front office not evaluating them correctly, are the hitting coaches not helping to give them the tools for success or is it Rocco for his usage of these players. Other than Lewis and Arraez what player has come up to be a solid contributor to this team for more than a short stretch under the Falvey/Levine and Rocco regime.
  7. There was also an article last year that talked about them doing the same with Brooks Lee. He finally went back to his swing and that is when his season turned around last year.
  8. Rocco made it sound like it was discussed when Maki went out there for a mound visit. I don't think the pitchers get much say in what they throw or at least they don't feel like they do.
  9. This is on Falvey, he wasted his resources on players like Santana and Margot. Remember last year they wasted $11m on Gallo. At some point ownership is going to ask for better results when raising the budget and Falvey has not delivered on that.
  10. There were the same hints being dropped last year as well. Most of the home runs he gave up were on off speed pitches. And there were whispers that the pitches weren't what he would have called for. And we have heard the same from a couple of others. Where there is smoke there may be fire.
  11. Why do they let SWR pitch to Ramirez but not Naylor.
  12. It is not the reps that they are getting, it is the philosophy of having flexibility. It is great to have players play multiple positions but can they play them at a minimum of league average. Just putting a body out there and saying they can play that position is not productive unless they can play the position effectively.
  13. I would like to see what would happen if he was allowed to play every game for the whole game. I get being taken out of LF in the 8th or 9th inning for defense. It feels like his playing time is inconsistent with this obsession with platooning. I don't know if it would help or not but would love to see what would happen.
  14. I understand what you are saying about Alcala, but at some point they have to find out what they have. Otherwise every year they are bringing in reclamation projects to throw against the wall and see what sticks. We need to have some stability in the bullpen.
  15. I agree with this but will they move on from Jackson, that was their big signing and he just isn't getting the job done.
  16. We have no idea if Topa will contribute or not. He has had one good year so we have to wait and see what he will contribute. Remember we also have a reliever in St. Paul that contributed very well but hey we need to keep the underperforming vets instead. And Funderburke will be the next one sent down.
  17. It will be Camargo sent down. Even though Castro should be.
  18. And Rocco pinch hits for Kirilloff instead of Santana in the first game. Does he have pictures of Rocco or something?
  19. What's it take to give Santana a day off and let Kiriloff play first. Does he have to go 0 for 50?
  20. And the bullpen is down one pitcher, so yeah it makes sense to go to it before you need to. Rocco's post game conference on Wednesday, he will be saying his bullpen needs a break because they will be overused again.
  21. This management does not do this unless we are having a losing season. Wallner should have been up two months earlier last year, but Gallo was blocking him. Miranda earned his shot in 2022, remember he was untouchable at the trade deadline, last year he was hurt. The Twins want mediocre veterans and this is not a sustainable winning model. You have to develop players, not keep bringing in low ceiling veterans to block the way of higher ceiling players.
  22. The Twins will not pull the plug even if it doesn't work. They wait way to long with the veterans to pull the plug. He will be on the roster all year long regardless of performance.
  23. No, he needs to play CF, that is when we are a better team.
  24. I am not sure I would count DeLeon as young as he will turn 32 next year and really hasn't done much in his career. Will it happen, maybe but it hasn't happened yet.
  25. This was an example of the Twins playing not to lose instead of playing to win. There is a difference and you can't be afraid of failure and they are.
