  1. It is time to get Culpepper up here, Gray is not a major league shortstop, stop pretending he is. Call up Lewis and put him at one position. Decide the position and quit moving him around. Give Lewis a couple of months, if he stinks it up, then move on, but nothing is being accomplished leaving him in AAA.
  2. Neither one of them should be on the roster, it's picking between two bad options.
  3. It's a platoon at SS between him and Gray because we have no other shortstops in the organization. And obviously he can't play any other position.
  4. 1st base then, find a utility guy to back up the infield spots
  5. If you call up Gonzalez, you don't need to move Keaschall. No AAAA or aging vet i.e. Arcia should be getting regular AB's. They can be in a bench role if needed. DFA Bell if you can't trade him because I think he is untradeable. Otherwise I agree with the list.
  6. You are correct about the indecision. That is why I think at a minimum they need to bring a Senior Advisor in to help Zoll out and give him some guidance thru this process. There is definitely a layer of complexity with not knowing what will happen with the labor agreement. Which is the biggest reason Zoll shouldn't be in charge. It's hard enough to run a team in normal circumstances when it is your first time at the top but this just shows the experience needed.
  7. Gomez has been a pleasant surprise. This is the type of player I wish they would target more, younger, maybe got caught up in the options game and with a tweak or two be productive.
  8. They asked him to pause working with his hitting coach, he felt he was getting conflicting direction from the team on his swing but went with what the team wanted. How did that work out. That is my point what has the team done to help him be successful, I do think he needs to stop talking so much as well but again when players just give cliches we rip them for that as well. That is why I think he should stop talking. I still think there is talent there and so did the Twins obviously, I am not sure giving up on him a third of the way thru the season is the right course of action.
  9. That signals the importance of Royce to the team, so did the actions of the team back it up. It was not Lewis asking for a visit.
  10. Remember how long it took to get rid of Garcia, it will be the same for Lawrence after they make him the closer.
  11. The dart board will tell them on the day the decision needs to be made.
  12. Did you know him in California when he was growing up. Some of the Lewis hate is getting over the top on here. The Twins signaled that he was one of their top priorities when he was one of the first players Shelton actually went to visit and not just called. I am not sure everything has been in alignment behind the scenes and no one knows. Yes he needs to perform to be up here, but I am not sure the Twins have always put him in a position to succeed.
  13. At the time the trades were made adding more LH corner OF's made no sense regardless of what you were giving up. It shows a lack of plan and Zoll was part of that. We don't know what the Pohlad's truly care, about it is all speculation. I get you may not like the Pohlad family and you have that right. My point is the Pohlads need to put someone in charge and let them run the baseball side of the team, I don't want a hands on owner. That started with Tommy's little brother and they have been more successful when they let McPhail and Ryan run the team. The owners should be providing oversight but give their management team some latitude to do what they think is best for the team.
  14. And Zoll also helped get Roden and Outman, not positions of need. Your top baseball man has to present a plan to Tommy and convince him why it is the best path forward. He then either accepts or rejects the plan.
  15. An OPS of .499 in May when he started half the games and his defense has been barely average. I am not sure words need to be eaten.
  16. Let's not the grand slam give you rose colored glasses. He has 6 hits in the last 14 games, I am not sure that earns a roster spot or makes him one of our most productive hitters. Keeping him as the backup SS, fine, but let's not act like he's worthy of a spot over Culpepper.
  17. Might need a bigger lead for that to happen.
  18. Probably Arcia, Outman, I would think they would want Kreidler or Outman for CF even though they won't play them there.
  19. But do you want Zoll making this decision, does he have the experience to make the right trade. This is not Tommy P.'s call except for approving dollars or not. Where Tom P. is at fault is not having someone in charge that can make the right moves.
  20. Our home run hitters are in St. Paul, Lewis went deep again.
  21. So they would basically be saying he wouldn't be ready to contribute until 28 when he is almost 26, That would be ridiculous. Other teams are doing it regardless of what may happen next year.
  22. Yet other teams have been calling up their younger players whether on the 40 man or not. They need to put the best team out there and right now that means Culpepper at short. I am not giving any slack to the Twins for this non move, it is starting to be management malfeasance.
  23. I just discovered it is legal to throw out a runner trying to steal, Cardenas just did in St. Paul.
