  1. Listening to Justin you would think that every reliever in baseball has a sub 1 ERA. Stop making excuses, other teams have figured out how to hit relief pitchers maybe we need to as well.
  2. It looks like they are going to play thru a light rain most of the game.
  3. I am not interested in 10 or 15 games maybe being a little better. I want them to get better this year and going forward. Playing Lewis, Lee, and Keaschall will provide information if they can be part of the team going forward. And if not they can hopefully make better roster decisions for next year for replacement players. It is way too early to give up on these three players completely.
  4. The solution will not come from Gray, Arcia or Kreidler, they are only band-aids. Gray is not a defensive upgrade over Lewis. And he will exposed quickly if he plays every day. He is the Kody Clemens of 2026, he has a few timely hits and everyone thinks he will do that on a daily basis. Lewis needs to play this year, if he can't improve than they need to make a decision before next season on whether to move on or not. Keaschall has 68 games at 2B in the major leagues, give him time to see if he can improve his defense. Other players have improved after coming up, not everyone is a finished product especially with the Twins philosophy of anyone can play anywhere. This is not helping the players develop in the minors be ready when they come up. I am frustrated with the hitting and the defense but unless you have clear upgrades for the infield and not AAAA types, you need to ride with Lewis, Lee and Keaschall.
  5. And he gets AB's over Martin, what does Martin have to do to get in the lineup.
  6. There is a forecaster for fantasy baseball and he is typically accurate. He thinks the game will play with a potential delay near the end of the game.
  7. Unfortunately this is who SWR is. He can get thru the lineup one time and then struggles after that. We have two plus years showing us this. Maybe he can figure it out. But at some point he needs to be considered for the bullpen if he can't. Of course we do need some options and hopefully there will be some soon.
  8. Give us a list of the kids on this team. There is plenty of experience on this team and not nearly enough kids that makes me buy into this argument.
  9. You need offense, so the answer is to put Outman in the lineup and sit Martin.
  10. That is the way it is in all sports, more time is given to top picks because more time and dollars are expended to develop these players. I do think Lewis needs to figure it out this year or else the Twins need to consider another direction. But I don't really want to see a bottom of the barrel FA or AAAA type be signed to replace him if that is the direction they go.
  11. Yes Lewis is the third baseman for the year, that is not going to change. Gray or Kreidler are not the answer.
  12. A bench with both Gray and Kreidler needs to be a no go. One of them to back up short is enough. I am not in favor of moving Lee around. When Culpepper comes up, they need to commit to keeping him up for the year.
  13. Why is everyone in such a rush to send Keaschall down to St. Paul. There are no replacements for him. Gray, Kreidler or Clemens are not going to solve any problems and or even be an average placeholder. Gray and Kreidler have not looked that spectacular on defense. Are they an upgrade maybe, but just because everyone says they are the defensive saviors does not mean they are. Have some patience with Keaschall, he only has a 100 AB's this year and under 300 for his career. With no one beating down the door to replace him, keep running him out there and keep him at 2B. Other teams show patience and have been rewarded. At some point our young players have to start adjusting. Is it coaching, lack of coaching or something else. If it is lack of talent, then the whole organization needs to be blown up from Zoll on down and start over. If it is coaching, hopefully Shelton and this current coaching staff can unlock what is needed.
  14. @Patzky did you like that play from Lewis better?
  15. I was wondering the same thing. Have the hitters been told not to challenge pitches anymore.
  16. He got the out, not every thing Royce does is bad.
  17. Austin just keeps producing, play him every day. It was great that Shelton didn't try and force Outman in the lineup. But it begs the question, why is Outman on the roster
  18. Kriedler is a worse bat than Keaschall. Have some patience, just like Milwaukee and SD did with their young players last year. These AAAA players are not the answer. There are plenty of AB's for Martin in the OF, just stop platooning everyone.
  19. Outman has no business being on a major league roster. You don't need someone that is only going to pinch run a couple of times a week and plays slightly above average defense. As I have said on other posts it would be very easy to bring up Rodriguez and get him playing time. You have three positions, the corner OF spots and DH and four players in Wallner, Martin, Larnach and Rodriguez. You can rotate them and they will each play 4 to 5 times a week. But the Twins need to stop making everyone a platoon player and they will have to commit to Bell at 1B which is what he was signed to play for. Clemens should be the 13th man playing a few times a week, he should not be a regular in the lineup like they are trying to force.
  20. A tough loss again, but it is going to be hard to get consistency from the bullpen. And we gave them no margin for error by missing opportunities on offense. A few thoughts on the young guys that everyone is down. Royce Lewis is just at 1,000 AB's right now, so per TK's motto, he needs to start figuring it out. We need to give him this year and see if he is a part of the future. He has just over 200 games at 3B, let's see if he can improve his fielding. Not everyone comes up a finished product. He was looking like his swing was getting better before he went on the IL, let's see if he can get back to that point. Keaschall doesn't even have 300 AB's. play him and develop him. Help him improve his defense at 2B, but leave him there or put him at another position but don't move him around. I don't know what to say about Wallner. He is just under 1,000 AB's and needs to figure it out. I think they have to make a decision either ride with him or bring ERod or Roden up when healthy to replace him. But if he is sent to St. Paul at this point you basically have to write him off. He is not a young prospect anymore, make a decision either he is part of the core or he is not. I still think there is something there but they need more talent to produce. They need to play Brooks or bring up Culpepper. I am disappointed because I thought Lee would have more success but he does not appear to be the long term answer but it hasn't even been a full season for him at short. I understand the doubt of whether he will actually figure it out. But there are no options. This team is not going to contend as currently constructed. Giving regular playing time to players like Gray, Clemens, Kreidler is not going to be the answer and will not result in any additional wins that will turn us into a contender. They need to figure out who is the core of the team and if this coaching staff can develop them, so we have glimmers of hope for the future. But I don't want to see any more of these AAAA or 30 somethings with nothing to add being run out there. That is boring baseball and gives us no hope.
  21. I thought it was reported that he was only going to sign with a contender. And I don't believe the Twins qualify for that.
  22. Please no piggyback tonight, use Rojas for length if needed, but let the game situation dictate pitching plans. Piggybacking does not work like when they tried to do it with Over and Morris.
