  1. They come home after Arizona and play the Dodgers at Target Field.
  2. This is the one thing I liked Shelton did, he brought in some coaches with major league experience. I think that has been helpful and Sizemore is a great example.
  3. Maybe someone will hire Falvey in the next couple of weeks and then they can pull the trigger.
  4. Only because you are obviously getting paid as the President of his fan club, 😀
  5. I am not sure why they brought him up if they aren't going to play him or only platoon him. I am not saying he has to be in there every day. But if you only are going to start him every 5th day it doesn't make sense to have him up here.
  6. At least play him over Gray, Culpepper has to be the starting SS once he is healthy. I am not sure Kreidler can sustain this if he plays every day.
  7. He could throw in place of the position player. Dan Hayes just tweeted that he has given up 4 Home Run's to the last 10 hitters he has faced. Oh but he has 3 k's so there must be something there to work with. Shelton might wear a hood over his head to conceal his identity if he has to put him in another game.
  8. Good job Kreidler, play him until Culpepper is healthy.
  9. I was at that game, please don't trigger my PTSD.
  10. I appreciate the follow up on the specifics of how they helped him. It is one of their success stories, but does it translate to value in a trade without more of a record of sustainable results. I would prefer they kept him for the year and see if he can be a long term solution to the bullpen.
  11. Who is going to trade for Gomez, he was a waiver wire pickup that has had a good month. I hope we have helped him figure something out but he would not bring anything. We would be selling low on Lewis, why would we do that. Give him the rest of the year, if he turns it around you either have 1B solved which is my preference or you would probably get a better package even if he is added to a package. I am still not sure there would be a market for Clemens, he is 30 years old, is the league convinced he has turned the corner. Whenever goes on a hot streak, the posts keep coming out that we can get something for Bell. There was not interest for him last year and really nothing has changed. He has his hot streaks but he can't sustain it enough to help a contending team. Like I posted on the game thread regarding Arcia staying with the Twins, there is a tendency on this board to overrate our players and any thought of getting any kind of return for anyone other than Ryan or Jeffers is a pipe dream.
  12. With Culpepper hurt, they need some players in St. Paul. They have been filling in the roster with guys from Cedar Rapids and Fort Meyers. So for now I don't mind it, but agree don't want him taking AB's from the younger guys.
  13. I think Sim had more duds than those two combined.
  14. Dan Hayes is reporting that Arcia cleared waivers and is reporting to St. Paul today, so we keep some depth in the organization. It is interesting, there were posters that thought we could get something for him. It is just another example of how we overrate the players in our organization.
  15. On the broadcasts, they have said Larnach has credited Sizemore with helping him improve in the outfield. I am basing it on those statements.
  16. He has earned the right to have a say of where he wants to play. There is no guarantee anyone we would get in a trade would be productive or in the case of prospects even play for the Twins. This just feels like ripping on a player for the sake of ripping.
  17. Any solution with Clemens as anything other than a utility player is not a solution. Let's see where he ends up at the end of the year.
  18. Actually Paredes isn't even considered a starter. We have four starters currently with all our supposed depth.
  19. I think some of the coaches he has brought in has really helped with this. I am glad we got some coaches with major league experience. The drills that Sizemore has put Larnach thru has made him into at least passable on defense.
  20. You can't trade Buxton unless he wants to go and I am not seeing any indication that he is going to want to move on.
  21. And for the month of April he was a candidate to be DFA'd again. I am enjoying his run that he is currently on, but let's see if he can sustain it and for how long.
  22. Have some patience, first he wasn't hitting enough now it is his fielding. Players do not come up as finished products. They need to learn what it takes to be successful in the major leagues. Luke has started 161 games from college tot he pros at 2B, maybe he doesn't improve, but that is just a year of starts. Can he improve, I don't know but he is athletic and appears to have the work ethic. Give him some time, Koskie was a butcher at 3B when he first came up and he became a good third baseman. We always want immediate success but it doesn't always happen. As for hitting for power, sometimes that comes with experience, have heard many former major leaguers make this point. All this said if you have a better option, then move him or move on. But we don't have a better option and no Kriedler or Gray or other AAAA types are not the answer either. Either bring someone in that can, that actually has and can play the position and has shown they can be a starter at this level or stay with Luke. We have to start defining these positions and stop moving everyone around. Keep Clemens as the super utility player, he is one who is comfortable moving around and play passable defense at multiple positions. The team needs to decide what players they have that they can count on for roles going forward and where are the holes are and make the moves to fill them. Unfortunately with no real leadership in the front office, I don't know when this will happen. And we will just keep floundering around .500 and tease us enough to pull us in and then have a stretch of games where they look like little leaguers out there.
