  1. Plus Castro and Jeffers can do something no other Twins player can do. BUNT!
  2. I watched that verdugo hit on mlb.com as it happened. Then I watched several replays to see if the ball was fair or foul. But now I have watched it to see if the ball could have been caught and I believe it could have been caught if a right fielder had exhibited more effort.
  3. Really a great article Nick. Duran is a uniquely talented pitcher. He is a joy to watch pitch for the Twins. I also enjoy the occasional views of the opposing batters shaking their heads in disbelief after a Duran pitch.
  4. Please, please do not put Duran on the cover of Sports Illustrated. That is a guaranteed jinx.
  5. Most fans in North Carolina are Braves fans. I am one of the few Twins fans here in North Carolina. So this Atlanta series is big for me. If Don Beaver had been able to buy the Twins 20 + years ago and move them to North Carolina, as he attempted unsuccessfully to do, the Atlanta/Charlotte rivalry would have been huge. Go Twins. Beat Hotlanta.
  6. The Twins must sweep the weak teams and break even with the good teams. But then all of us at TD know that.
  7. A wonderful victory, complete with a walleye fishing vest, Maeta's insistence on staying in the game, resulting in Jayce having the good sense to let him finish off the toy tigers, showing fight and guts and above all...confidence, while there were plenty of Maeta's pitches, placed as perfectly as a Martha Stewart place setting, plus an emotional Rocco trying to act more like Gardy, resulting with an early exit once again for our beloved manager, all followed by Matt Braun's exquisite literary game summary. Life is good.
  8. Can't hurt. We shall see.
  9. Seriously, the blown call may have worked in the Twins favor. Especially since the Twins had a player coming up to bat who knew how to make contact without trying to hit a home run ( cough, cough Gallo, Buck) or a 2 hopper to the second baseman (cough, cough Kep).
  10. I thought this too, but could not figure out who to send down. Solano, Farmer, Castro, Julien...? I don't think so.
  11. The player who plays 3B needs to be a good fielder. That person is Lewis over Miranda by far. 3B requires a strong throwing arm. That person is Lewis over Miranda. Speed helps win games in the field and on the base paths. That person is Lewis over Miranda. Being an everyday player is more than just batting.
  12. Williams was a catcher at Clemson and was drafted by the Twins as a catcher. Hmmm - I wonder if he was a good defensive catcher with a good arm?
  13. I would like to see Gray get a couple more victories before All Star selections are made.
  14. I like a speedy hitter batting 9th. Castro hits a bunt single. Castro steals 2B. Next pitch, Solano hits the ball behind the runner to RF and speedy Castro runs through a stop sign from 3B coach and scores. Sounds like a plan.
  15. Michael Taylor has been such a good addition to the Twins this year. Defensively, offensively, on the bases and probably in the clubhouse also.
  16. I hope there is another good crowd for today's game. I feel last night's crowd helped the Twins' players. Correa mentioned the good crowd last night.
  17. At least they are not batting 1,2,3 in the lineup.
  18. Max Kepler could have been a much better hitter by hitting to the opposite field some. How many times have you heard the following coming from a Twins announcer? "Kepler hits a two hopper to the second baseman for an out."
  19. As Michael Jordan said to the UNC football team at a recognition ceremony for the football team: "The ceiling is the roof."
  20. The sky opened up here in North Carolina shortly after the Twins blew the 5 run lead.
  21. This was a frustrating loss, which should have been a Twins victory. When the Twins lose like this, I feel I have wasted 3 hours of my time watching this game. Do you think maybe Gardy was right after all...it is a long season and we shouldn't get too upset about this one loss..................................Nah, I don't buy that either.
