  1. When someone apologizes, the person being apologized to, has 2 choices: 1) accept the apology or 2) don't accept it. I have tended to accept, rather than analyze, apologies during my life and that works better for me. I, for one, accept Marwin's apology and am ready to move on. If Cora or Bregman or Hinch or Beltran apologized, I would feel the same way. My father taught me that when I did something wrong, man up and admit it and apologize. That's what Marwin did. It's very difficult to do that, especially when there is a close bond between a group who did something wrong.
  2. Looks like the prospects balanced out (though the Twins got the younger one), the Twins lost Grateral but got a middle of the staff starter with a team friendly contract plus $10 million dollars and lost a draft pick. Under the circumstances, I'd say this was a better trade than what the Twins originally agreed to.
  3. Good point about the 40 man roster. I was remembering seeing Raley hitting some long balls in spring training last year. Not a very large sample size, I know.
  4. I may be the only one, but I dread losing Raley as much as losing Graterol. Raley is a masher and can field and run.
  5. My wife and I have had to cancel our annual trip to Ft. Myers this year due to health problems. We have 2 tickets to each of the first 4 home games: Home opener with the Blue Jays, The Red Sox, the Phillies and a second game with the Red Sox. The seats are all on the 3rd base side in the lowest level, most near an aisle and most near the top of the lower level, so not much stairs to walk up and down. I'll be glad to sell them. for half the face value. I have printed them out and can email and snail mail them to a buyer. Reply through TD private messenger or email me david@statesvillelaw.com or call 704-871-9000. Ask for David Benbow
  6. Nick, What happened here was what you suggested in an earlier post. Good call.
  7. I couldn't agree more. Thanks Cody for a fun article.
  8. Major League Baseball has set new records for most strikeouts each of the last 12 years . This has a lot to do with why the Twins pitchers are striking more batters out now. Most teams' pitchers are striking out more batters year after year. . The game has changed dramatically. I realize the point of the article is that the Twins are at the forefront of this change. In order to prove this point, how do the Twins' pitchers rank with the rest of the teams in each of the last 15 years as far as total number of strikeouts by Twins' pitchers per season? Has the Twins' SO ranking increased steadily?
  9. Thanks for warning me against reading anything by Barry Daniel, real or fictional.
  10. I agree. Good thought process in this article.
  11. I agree 100%. A man is only as good as his word. I admit I only know what I have read, but I didn't fall off a turnip truck riding into town this morning.
  12. I have been a Jake Reed fan ever since his first year. The citizens at Rochester love him. He has been involved in many community activities. I surely am pulling for him to make it to the majors this year. He is what is good and right about sports figures being looked up to, especially by kids. I would enjoy meeting him at spring training in a few weeks to thank him for the example he sets for the rest of us, young and old..
  13. Interesting discussion topic, article and posts. Thanks.
  14. Pass. Pass. The Twins don't need any more strong women, good looking men and above average children. They need a warrior . an ace pitcher.
  15. John Altobelli, who also died in the crash was the uncle of Bo Altobelli, who was drafted by the Twins, I think it was in 2012, Bo played for Elizabethton and Cedar Rapids for 2-3 years. Bo's cousin and aunt also died in the crash.
  16. Timely article. I hope the Twins give him more opportunities to succeed. Thanks Nick..
  17. I live in North Carolina and TD is my primary source. If TD doesn't have it posted, it hasn't happened yet.
  18. Outstanding. A big salute to all who helped.
  19. Enjoyable article. Thanks. Suddenly I'm hungry. Excuse me while I go into my kitchen for some leftovers..
  20. Put Josh Donaldson at SS and Sano back at 3B, leave Arraez at 2B and put Gonzo at 1B. That is about what we had last year for IF defense and frankly, at IF offense too. Or leave Sano at 1B and put Gonzo at 3B.
  21. One of my favorite articles of the entire off season. Thanks Nick.
  22. Nicely written article. Thank you Cody.
  23. Great article SD. Thanks.
