  1. 2015
  2. The Yankees got to play the Orioles 19 times vs the Twins playing them 6 times, so eventually things were going to even up.
  3. He's got a walk off winning hit vs the Indians on his Twins' resume so maybe that'll come in handy.
  4. Wade now has four career runs scored and still zero career hits. Wonder what the record is for something like that to begin a career.
  5. Twins also played one extra game vs the Mets (2 home/2 road) while Indians only played 3 on the road. Twins went only 1-3, but Indians went 0-3 so actually gained a half game out of that.
  6. Seems that way because of KC and Detroit, but the White Sox actually lead the season series with the Indians 8 games to 6.
  7. If we'd had Adrianza in right and Gonzalez at first, we probably get the first two guys out this inning.
  8. Rogers gets the blown save, but no hold for Dyson since you have to record at least one out.
  9. To be honest by the time we traded him last year I was disappointed to see him go because he seemed to finally get right after the rust from missing spring training. His success with the Yankees wasn't a shock to me. And even when he struggled last year, he did a good job beating the average teams that we are going to need to beat down the stretch this year. I've got more confidence in him consistently beating the Royals or Tigers down the stretch than Perez. Granted Smeltzer could probably do the same, but he's still a small sample size. I wouldn't want him pitching a one game wild card against the Red Sox, but that wouldn't be his job either.
  10. Sano might be home run or bust on offense, but I've been really impressed with his defense this year. Only a couple errors and has made some really impressive, and often times clutch timed, plays at third this year. He isn't taking his hitting struggles on the field with him.
  11. Parker didn't give up any runs, it was 6-4 when he came into the game.
  12. I think Livan Hernandez
  13. They've always voted the AL DH going back to 1989, when they started using it for AL home teams (now it's every year). NL always gets to pick whomever to start for them, I remember Pedro Guerrero being the first NL DH from collecting those Panini Sticker Albums back then. I've voted each of the last two weeks, five times a piece, so really glad to see Cron that high as I've picked him. Also great to see guys like LaStella actually leading at 2B too, instead of Altuve or another bigger name. But with the primary vote not deciding the winner, I have a feeling the bigger names with eventually win out on "election day".
  14. They used to air these after school when I was in grade school (89-90ish). Then they ended up on Classic Sports Network that was eventually bought out by ESPN and branded ESPN Classic where I think episodes still air in the early mornings from time to time. We'd play wiffleball in the backyard and use the real derby rules from the show.
  15. I'm guessing Dave Stevens just missed the list, he holds the Twins record for most times breaking his handing punching the wall after blowing a save. If he would've panned out, Aggie would've never had to go back to being the closer in 1997.
  16. In regulation yes. But it's happened 3 or 4 times in OT, Tebow for sure did it to the Steelers.
  17. https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?resid=F2E5D8FC5199DFAF!8063&ithint=file,xlsx&app=Excel&authkey=!AAAsz3uDsmqy_Vw Of the 12 public ballots already released, Johan and Johnny Damon are the only two guys still shutout. Clemens and Vlad are 12/12. Bonds is 10/12 but lost a vote from someone that voted for him last year, which is kind of odd.
  18. Frankie got demoted to the bullpen the last month or so of 96, where he got the two saves. He was still the Twins pitcher of the year for that season though when they did their awards. Much like the last few years, having to rush guys like him, Latroy, Milton, etc met with pretty mixed results. Frankie will always be one of my favorite Twins though. But I also enjoyed Koskie hitting a grand slam off him against Seattle after Frankie had said some negative things after being let go by the Twins. Let's not forget one Joe Nathan debuting a 20 year old shortstop before becoming a pitcher two years later!
  19. Jose Mijares had a handful of starts early on in the system, but was exclusively a bullpen guy for a few years before he finally debuted with the Twins.
  20. Guys like Quinton are why I wish you could have a 26th player during April. If he's even close to what he was hitting, you'd at least want him on your bench to pinch hit. But I don't see him beating out Nunez (who I'm a big fan of myself) or Santana for a bench spot, the only way is if they decide to send Buxton down and go with Santana in center to start the year and Arcia as the fourth outfielder/Nunez fifth if needed. I understand maybe having a defensive replacement for Sano, but if the game is still close, we aren't going to be sitting Sano anyway very often if there is much chance his bat has to come around again.
  21. Babe Ruth played enough exhibition games against the Negro League All Stars, plus Cuba and Japan to see that it made very little difference in what he would've done. He was consistent across the board (and actually pitched again very well in many of those same tours). I also don't think there would've been a significant discrepancy as far as pitching, even if it was integrated earlier.
  22. Fryer is on the US team at the Pan Am Games for (hopefully if they adance) a couple weeks.
  23. Makes me sad that catchers can no longer block the plate anymore.
  24. It sounded the other night like he'll leadoff against lefties and hit ninth vs. righties.
  25. I got the impression from Sano going to AA, that it's just a tune up for a bit and AAA is where he'll ideally spend most of the year barring a call up to the bigs before that.
