  1. It's weird that other teams bring up young phenoms.... Why can't Minnesota do that with the OF? I'm pretty sure their current 2B is about their age. This is a world series type year. Not a year to sit back and be conservative, Imo.
  2. If he were healthy, why not? He's 25or 26.... Plus, Cave is playing.... That said, I'd consider one of the young AA outfielders if Cave doesn't hot the next couple weeks.
  3. Where do you propose getting 4 pitchers next year, if not in trade (since you don't want older pitchers, which are the only available in trade or FA)?
  4. It's a bad moment to need cash, I'd guess. Good thing I sold a bunch to fund some house work a couple weeks ago!
  5. Everything went on sale today! Too bad I'm short on cash.
  6. He's one of two starters signed for next year..... So ya, we should worry. This is not a very good pitching staff, imo.
  7. I don't think your comment was stupid. I think the league is changing a lot right now, and that no one knows just how hard it will be too trade in the future. I could be wrong, maybe more vets are traded in the off season, as teams value prospects more? I think it's an interesting analysis at this point.
  8. My point is that I don't think you can count on players being available, at the position you need, the exact time you need them. Which is why Chief and I argue to add talent when you can. And no, not to sell the whole farm to do so. Neither of us has ever said that.
  9. I endorse pulling Berrios. This is about the season and team, not individual stats.
  10. Fangraphs had an article on this. They feel the twins are in no danger. I even asked for classification, and one of the authors was certain it was no issue. They also added roster resource to their site, which is amazing for answering questions like yours.
  11. Trade for whom? The idea that the right players will be available in the future seems suspect to me. It's on of the issues of not signing Keuchel.... Other starters were not available. This idea that they can just trade for guys when needed seems suspect to me. As for what they did, it was fine. Let's see how Dyson does outside SF.... But they needed RP, and they got two. Hopefully they got the right two.
  12. This deadline should be a warning, imo, that drafting only hitters high so you can trade for pitching later, might not be viable. If no good pitchers are available, or have Minnesota on their no trade. Please note the word might is in there....
  13. I never once mentioned those two! The Twins organization is all I've ever said. There is more to the team than just those two.
  14. Heck, I think they could have done that after the draft this year too.
  15. I know this is going to sound crazy, but the Reds attendance is up 3000 per game this year, after their offseason of additions. Maybe they want to keep those fans around? It's possible....no idea.
  16. I'd put MN in the winner line. Barely, but there. It does show, imo, that assuming you can add to your team at the deadline to fix anything you passed on fixing earlier isn't necessarily true. Sometimes those fixes aren't available (I'm thinking the Yankees here, mostly).
  17. I said Twins organization. I said it is likely they are part of the reason. I actually never said only reason. What is the MOST LIKELY reason? Since, he does have cold weather cities not on his list...... And no, it's not the same as saying Sano is lazy, not even a little.
  18. I hope it wasn't money.....$53MM is what the Astros will pay for 2 and 1/3 years of Greinke. In any event, we've gone off the rails here. Dyson is a solid pickup.
  19. Not many impact arms were traded, but that just shows, imo, how valuable (expensive) impact arms are.
  20. If you don't think it's the Twins fault the Twins are on his NTC, why do you think he doesn't want to come to MN? What's a more likely reason?
  21. It's like people are not reading what I'm saying at all.....
