  1. He has lifetime security already. Now he's playing for MONEY. He'd be foolish to give up any free agent years right now.
  2. What's a better solution, or are you condoning not adding more starters this year? Which is a fine stance, just curious
  3. My wife also highly recommends it. I'll watch it someday.
  4. It's an interesting contract. Good for Seattle. No surprise to anyone he's on the West coast. Can't fault the Twins here at all.
  5. Man, I was sure they were going to sign him.....
  6. I'm most interested in Romero, Cave, and Gonsalves. And am hoping that the system sends a legit starting, good, player next year.
  7. In there too.... It seemed to me the last front office slow played them from A ball to AA, and then rushed them. Where I would rush them earlier, and really test them in AAA, where legit MLB and AAAA players are. But we'll see what the new guys do soon.
  8. I literally said I agreed with his choice. How is that a dis? And why assume a negative? Why assume it was a dis? Baffled by this whole conversation.
  9. Interesting, as I read just a few weeks ago it was younger.
  10. The league is getting younger, that's just a fact. And no one is asking for Rooker to be an all star.... Plenty of players are promoted quickly these days, they seem to work out better elsewhere...
  11. Apology for what? And, his agent said they made the best offer. I think players should choose money, so I have no idea what I'd apologise for. Help me understand.....
  12. I have no issue with Cruz's values, as far as I know. My point is clear, all those posts saying players won't come to Minnesota because it's Minnesota, or they aren't good enough, well. ... As his agent said, they gave him the best offer. Many of us have said, players mostly follow the money.
  13. Btw.... Once again we see money is more important than going to a more certain playoff team....

  15. While I've been beating the drum for acquiring longer term assets, I feel pretty good about this signing. A one or two year deal, for a very good to great player is better than the same deal for a mediocre player. If the core plays well, he's potentially helping a run to the playoffs. If not, they can deal him. I hope they get a few pitchers now.
  16. While a decent number of relief pitchers have signed, there are still some out there. I'm not worried yet.
  17. I wish the front office shared your optimism and surrounded the core with a good player or four.
  18. I have strong interest in winning the lottery......
  19. My second most coveted FA this year, but he's going to the Dodgers, Giants, or Mariners, I'd bet.
  20. It should have been obvious to everyone that Hughes was done. If not, the FO has serious scouting issues. Serious. A team that wants to build through the draft and IFA and trading vets for 45 value prospects sold a 2nd round pick. It was all about money, money they aren't going to spend this year.
  21. I'll try again.... If teams thought this, why wasn't he traded for top prospects? Multiple.
  22. Not only that, they traded a valuable draft pick to do so.... Which makes no sense if you entire strategy is to build thru the draft nearly exclusively.
  23. Those outcomes come from bad decisions, and being frugal. Good pitchers are available. That said, you are close to convincing me to consider your idea.
