  1. I believe he wouldn't wave it......the question is, what's more likely, he doesn't want to play for the Twins, or he doesn't want to live in MN for 6ish months? I never said I didn't believe him, I asked if the Twins themselves might be the reason the Twins are on his NTC.
  2. And why do you think he'd block coming to MN? He just hates MN that much, or maybe the Twins organization has something to do with it?
  3. I'm going to go out on a limb, and suggest the Twins organization is the main reason the Twins organization is on so many players NTC. I could be wrong.....they could like the Twins, and just hate the Twin Cities so much more.
  4. There always seems to be a reason Houston has the advantage. It's never on the Twins, apparently. Two relief pitchers is not a bad trade deadline. Not awesome, not bad.
  5. I'm the only volunteer at the food shelf this afternoon.... So I'll miss the live version of this thread for a bit..... I'm not sure if that is good or bad...
  6. I'm assuming nothing either way, but to answer the question, I will be disappointed if they add nothing else. I also believe it sends a message to players that this team will never go all in, making some free agents less likely to sign here.
  7. They literally released four relief pitchers last week. How good do you think they think it is?
  8. Which is it? 200 innings is super important to be a good pitcher, or not? Because that is the point I was refuting....
  9. 18 out of how many hundred starters? Ok, no one wasn't right, but if that is an important hurdle for a pitcher, Berrios must not be good.... It's almost like there was a point....
  10. No one throws 200 innings a year anymore. If they are trying to dump him, they are doing a very bad job. The Pirates aren't trading their awesome RP that is under control for years.
  11. I don't think the word expendable is a good word. He has value.....if that value can be converted into more value (which includes taking advantage of the banked wins this year), then he should be traded. If not, no, he should not be.
  12. My theory is that team was good, not awesome. If you lose in the playoffs every year, it is extreme luck, which seems unlikely. They played in a bad division, which helped their record. I hope this FO makes moves that improve the team when they have a wide open window.
  13. https://twitter.com/jjcoop36/status/1156232160845729797?s=09 It's also about context. You can reasonably count on good prospects, but how many playoff wins do they have from not trading? There aren't likely many years where this franchise will be on pace for 95 wins.
  14. That's what people said about the beginning of the M and M era. There are no guarantees of health. This team has one legit starting pitcher under contract for next year....
  15. Concur. But if a real ace were available, I'd go far in terms of prospects. Because an ace is almost never available. In the draft, I'm constantly told it is better to draft hitters and trade for pitching..... And that that is the Twins plan. Let's see.
  16. Good points. Even if they did burn a year, you gotta play to win when you have a chance. It's not likely they will consistently be in this position.
  17. If they think he can help this team in the playoffs, that should be 100x more important than a year of control. Theret no guarantee next year will look like thiy year
  18. For the record, is anyone down on giving up Diaz? I'm not sure I get your post. Help me out.
  19. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/it-may-really-be-the-lewin-diaz-trade/
  20. You think every team passed on Keuchel, but will sign Odo if there is a QO?
  21. They need to find three or four starting pitchers next off season.... Given their fiscal restraint, would you rather downgrade first, or spend less on pitching? They will likely need relief pitching also.
