    The interesting thing about this to me is that is SEEMS LIKE THEY REALLY SPENT A LOT, but it turns out they didn't really increase payroll that much. Also, they are 17th in opening day payroll right now, so they didn't exactly bump it way up near the top 10-12 at all. That's an observation, btw, not a judgement. Next year? Lots of money coming off again next year.

    I'm curious why. We have no real data, one way or the other, about pitching development for this FO. It's much too early, imo, to draw any conclusions.

    No issue, it's not always easy to parse what is said....but most of the time, there are not hidden meanings in my posts. They are usually quite literal. But you are right, what AP did was worse, for me anyway.

    Nope. Trust me, I did not root for AP to run well, and I won't root for Marwin. I'll root for the Twins, but not him. Those two things are possible.

    One can accept the apology, but not root for him. Those two things are independent. I ask no further punishment, but I'm also not obligated to cheer for him.

    this seems quite high to me. Though, Fangraphs has him 8th.....so what do I know?

    I couldn't disagree more. We are talking about tens of millions of dollars here, and roster spots.....no way you can say a team can't see medicals. No way.

    I won't root for him, just as I didn't root for AP. I hope he strikes out every AB and gets sent to the minors. Like all of them.

    Based on the twins adding a prospect and a draft pick? And, apparently, the sox get Downs, who is higher rated, and a catching prospect to boot. Again, someone help me understand the anger at a team doing what teams do.

    I'm not thrilled about the money, unless they deal at deadline. I suppose to opens up that possibility more, which has value. I'm just not sure it has pick 67 and Raley value. That's two years now they've sold picks for money. But, if they don't believe that Gaterol is a starter, this still makes sense to do in some combination. Overall, I like the deal, just not sure I love the deal.

    Have you read any of the links posted here about what teams know before they see medicals? They know as much as us. Then their doctors get details. It isn't reasonable that those details made them fear things more?

    The vitriol at a team that got the medical details, and then decided they didn't like the idea as much, is amazing to me. They did nothing wrong at all.
