    They certainly seem to have a type for pitchers. College and big. It does seem like an older draft, which hopefully means some of the pitchers move quickly on relief roles.

    John 3:45 Is Keoni Cavaco an under slot pick? Seems like he got picked higher than he was on your and your competitors boards. Keith Law 3:45 Don't think so - he had other suitors in the teens.

    Agreed, every org has strengths and weaknesses......like I said, the Vikings refusal to draft OL early led to bad results on the OL, while the rest of the team looked good/great over the last few years. But it's a team game, and teams need to find ways to cover for their own weaknesses. The Cubs are trying to do that by buying FA SPs. It also led to people saying "see, they take OL" after they took them in round 4 and later, none of whom are all that good (or even in the NFL anymore). The Twins seem to be good at finding OF and SS. Probably catchers. Hopefully they are doing a good job trading for SP, because the draft looks suspect (outside the guy whose name I can't spell) to me.

    If not this year, and next off season, I don't know when they'd do it.

    If the Twins are going to start trading their top prospects for great SP, then re-signing them to huge contracts, I have no issue with the approach.

    agreed, and I acknowledged and praised that. But, now that they are entering the competitive phase of the rebuild, they hopefully aren't trading MLB players for prospects for the next 5 years or so.

    Just like every year I asked why the Vikings didn't take OL early......sometimes an organizational philosophy isn't great, even if everything else about the team is.

    Fangraphs has this guy highly ranked.... TLDR Holland is a 70 runner with 50 raw power that can passably play all three positions up the middle but his swing mechanics and skills can't match his tools.

    On the plus side, they'll have one of the oldest rookie league teams, and should be able to man the infield.....so their stats will be awesome!

    I'm really wondering what the strategy is at this point. None of these guys are ranked highly at all and where is the pitching going to come from in the low minors if you don't draft pitchers?

    As far as I can tell, Fangraphs rated 443 players, and Steer wasn't on the list. But, it's possible I missed him somehow.... edit: see below....

    BTW, easiest way to find Fangraph's player by player thoughts for MN: https://www.fangraphs.com/prospects/the-board/2019-mlb-draft?sort=-1,1&type=0&team=min&pagenum=0 Note, as of now, they have not added their third rounder..... actually, I don't think their 3rd round pick is even in their list, now that I look for SS and 3B.....hmmmm.

    Fangraph's report: (109th on their list) TLDR Canterino will regularly show a plus fastball/breaker combo, but there's some effort and relief risk.
