    Nate 3:22 It's been a very disappointing season to be a Twins fan, but one of the pleasant surprises has been seeing Jose Miranda's improvement. How much has his outlook changed from a year ago? Can he be an everyday third baseman? Keith Law 3:23 I loved him in his draft year and the Twins, to their credit, have always been steadfast in their (outward) belief that he'd hit. He could be a regular, yes.

    Which AAA pitchers are up, and look good enough and ready to be part of 2022? That is the number 1 question, and it isn't close, imo. Because if they aren't up this year, you can't count on them for next year. And there is a low percentage chance they can fill 3 starting spots from outside the org......like, really low.

    Agreed. I've said over and over on this site that I'll really begin judging their pitching acumen next year.

    I'm not interested in them being better than TR, but better than teams good at this. I agree, we might see a much different picture next year, but we don't this year, or any previous year.....so, until they actually do develop good pitching, I'm holding off on saying they can. Which seems reasonable to me.....

    I think this is a fair take for sure. I'd only deal guys signed past this year if I was blown out of the water (except maybe Donaldson if I could free up all his money and was confident I could sign a legit, good, SS to a multi year deal).

    I'm curious, do you think anyone here wants them to be cheap? Or, maybe, some here think the Twins and some of those players won't come to an agreement, so they should deal them and get something in return? If I had to guess, 100% of the people here would rather they find a way to sign Buxton, Berrios, and Rogers, and another FA SP, and another SS and a RP or two......but that a good number think that isn't realistic at all.

    Trade deadline. pitchers coming up from teh minors (THE KEY for me for the future and where they think next year is) Possible extensions Kepler, Garver, Polanco, and younger hitters on the roster I don't care about spoilers at all. I'd like the Sox to win the division, and for their fans to be able to rub it in the Cubs' fans noses, frankly.

    Several national writers have suggested Berrios for Pearson (with minor pieces on each side being different depending on the writer). IF the Twins don't think they can extend Berrios, that deal makes sense.

    Great infrastructure? Which league average pitcher, reliever or starter, have they developed?

    I'd be happy with some homegrown RPs to start....even that has largely been absent. Especially with this FO. It is kind of hard to believe how few even good starters they have developed over the years. There have been exceptions, clearly, but not enough. Hoping that trend starts to change later this year with Winder and others getting their feet wet.

    Oh, I agree with that. 100%. But a man can dream and hope.

    They aren't making the playoffs this year .... There is no reason to keep guys on expiring deals. You could get lucky in a trade, or get nothing.

    What exactly do you think you'd get for any reliever not named Rogers? Donaldson for Bohm is interesting.... If they put that money they save next year to a legit SP or SS. Bohm is highly regarded.

    Replying to @keithlaw For teams with no chance of signing a player I’ve always seen there is no harm with a late round pick. Is there ever a case where the risk of him not agreeing to be drafted again by the team (eg Rocker and Rox) where there can be harm? Or am I looking into this too much? Thx! keithlaw @keithlaw i agree with you, i'd take a guy like that in the 11th and 12th rounds every year
