    that's kind of "every" good stuff minor league player's "floor".....If I had to guess, he's a starter for at least a couple years......but that's a guess.

    Sure, but that's why we were discussing a 1 year deal, which was your question......that's all they were getting for sure. Like I said, I'm not sure I'd have dealt him....but a 1 year deal was it.

    He's 20 in AA....and has really good stuff....I have no ability to predict the future though (as you'd know from my day trades this year.....). But I also hope he's good. I'd say really good chance he's AT least a RP......at the MLB level. If not more.

    good stuff, thanks! From what I read, he has one of the best bat to ball swings around. I mean, those are his stats from his FIRST YEAR as a pro......in AA.

    Ok, the team was bad.....so, I guess they should do something to make it better. I am not 100% sure I'd have traded Berrios, but I also don't know it was wrong. I mean, sure, if they weren't bad, you don't deal him...but they were.....It isn't a theoretical situation, it is a real one. They were bad....

    theoretically this is money I can lose....last year I did 125%....this year I'm down 60%....mostly one stock.

    What pitcher could they sign right now? I mean, this guy is there now. They will give him a shot this year. He may or may not take a spot next year......but right now? There is no harm right now. Of course it doesn't work often, few great players are sitting around......but it only has to work once (see, Badoo, Akil, Detroit Tigers, for an example).

    Given he might not play this year, I don't think his value is more/less in the off season than now. Unlike Berrios. But then, I'd sign Buxton to a deal. I predict there is a Buxton deal in the next 7 days!

    On the plus side, they have two veterans for mentoring still....which I do think matters for next year. Now get some young guns up here for a few starts and rotate the others in after that.....

    I've said all along that if they don't deal Pineda, I'd call this a failed deadline....but now that they've dealt Happ for TWO players? I don't know that I can say that.
