    All I really care about is Lewis being fn healthy. Sigh.

    His defense is under rated.....but I get most here disagree. NO ONE runs on him at all, and he was not awful out there at all....they do have Rodriguez and Larnarch and possible Keaschell on the door step also (and, Kiersey, which seems unlikely). So, he's available, possibly, but for what? Gotta be, as we both said, a cheap, good, player.

    I mean, if you could package him for Teel (the C from Boston's AA team, who I wanted in last year's draft, who's already good in AA, at catcher....), but you'd have to give up A LOT, I'd guess, to get him....more than Wallner. I understand people are skeptical of Matt, but he was GREAT last year. And he's hit at every level. People here, IMO, are way too down on him.

    No chance they deal him with Kepler leaving after this year. They'd need to get a controllable SP in return, and they have Festa, and two guys in AA (plus Raya, who I think is a RP). Plus Paddock for next year maybe. And Varland (who should move to RP, imo). I can't see them adding payroll, so it would have to be a cheap guy too, who is trading a cheap, good, player for Wallner?

    I can't see any reason to deal prospects for a hitter, not given what the budget is, and not given who is on the MLB roster, AAA roster, and AA roster. Now, pitching? I could maybe, maybe, see that. But, man, RPs especially are so hard to predict. They aren't dealing for a catcher, and Farmer is easy to replace with Lee if you want. I just don't see how they could possibly deal for a hitter. As said above, LAST YEAR? Dealing for a hitter made a TON of sense....but nope. I'm guessing they add zero budget at the deadline, and the budget drops again next off season.

    Ten games over. Given the tone on this site, you'd think they were ten games under . Lots had gone right, but there still upside here on the hitting side. And the bullpen if Duran returns to elite and Stewart is healthy.

    Jeffers is sixth as a catcher in fwar, as a team, they drop to 16th. So ya, it matters.

    As a catcher, Vazquez is 39th of 43 catchers in fwar with at least 100 abs. So theoretically it could be worse, but it world be hard to be worse. His at bats count as much as anyone else's at bats. You can't just say it doesn't matter, it clearly does.

    Vazquez has started 4 more games at catcher.... Not half. Everyone else is good, so it doesn't matter he's bad? That's no argument. He's got negative fwar, with the defense counted..... He's one of the worst hitters in a decade, and he starts more than half the games.

    Ah. Missed that. The real issue is Vazquez hitting. And catching more games than Jeffers.

    Martin should have started on second, Buxton for Margot and Jeffers for auto out. Why he's in the roster is baffling at this point. Truly. And his vaunted defense was nowhere to be seen. Truly awful. I rarely blame the manager, but he did everything wrong in the top of the tenth.

    I rarely blame the manager, but you can't let Vazquez hit there. Ever, really, but especially not there. I can't believe people keep defending Vazquez.
