    I can't think of any reason to do this at this point. How many years in a row has he been hurt for more than half the year now? Four?

    I mean, that's now what WAR measures. That's what WPA measures....you can want a stat to mean something it doesn't mean, but I'm not sure why.....not in good faith.

    Sure.... The more I think about it, the more I like dealing Max and getting a pitcher, assuming they'd want to partially offset the increase in payroll. I might even do if they didn't need to, but the depth is nice right now (I think Wallner will outhit Max the rest of the year, as he did last year). Frankly, I think TX might stand pat, and hope they get healthy and hot again. I have my doubts, but still....

    Yup, and I don't see this ownership doing even that little bit. Now, maybe deal Kepler and trade for Eovaldi? I could see something like that happening....that costs them only about 3.5 million net.

    thoughtful post! The last part is one area where I am critical of the FO, not trusting their own development as much as I would, but I was sure wrong on Santana (though anyone that thinks he's likely to have his best year in many, many years, is optimistic).

    Martin isn't exactly young, and he can sit and play. I'd rather he be in MN, helping them, than sitting in St. P doing nothing to help them. Either field the best players, or give up.

    I can't find anything on line about the "danger" of different positions, which is weird. I'd guess no, not at all. Lots more knee work at 2nd, lots more sprinting in the OF.....

    This game is why I've stopped going to game threads. By page three SWR was the worst pitcher ever.... Yikes on CC getting hit again. Happy for Vazquez, dude has really struggled the last year and a half. . If Lopez could rediscover last year, this team is dangerous.

    If st Paul is useless as an indicator of readiness,as Seth states, maybe they need to make a change, which they won't. Varland has to go to the bullpen at this point.
