  1. You're literally ignoring the point. You claimed the front office knows the players, that they know who is good from the minors, and we should not try guys in the minors, but go with veterans.
  2. Truth. Matt Belisle over Anderson? Great post. I don't understand why they don't trust their minor league system more...
  3. My point was that they were wrong about Ryan. If anyone knew he'd be that good, he'd have fetched way more in trade. No one said don't trade prospects. But I think the Rooker example makes the point even better. Teams don't know with certainty how players will play at the MLB level. They just don't.
  4. Front offices clearly don't, or we wouldn't see so many lopsided trades. Like if they did, would Tampa trade Ryan for two months of a hitter? No chance. We would not see so many promotions that don't work across the league.
  5. With CC possibly hurt....Lee to SS and Julien to 2B seems possible at this point (esp if Buxton is dinged and Castro plays CF). I can't see any way they deal Julien for less than a top 100 prospect or better (given he'd be a top 100 prospect, likely top 50 if he was still a prospect). Seriously. Wow.
  6. Might be the worst trade I've ever seen proposed. I'm getting Teel back for Julien 100x out of 100. I don't know how to even out that deal....but Julien is 100 percent a MLB player, I'm not dealing him for the proposed package ever. Zero chance. Zero.
  7. didn't help Austin Martin......imagine his OF defense if he didn't spend 2 years at SS, a position he'd never play. Now, I'm ok with Keaschell getting a shot in CF, because we don't know yet....but eventually it will be more obvious where he can/not play.
  8. People predicted Julien would suck? Because that's what I said....The do NOT force the kids to play well, they promote kids when veterans get hurt. How the "kids" are playing isn't relevant to their decision making when it comes to replacing veterans.
  9. Sure, because of injuries and Julien unlikely sucking. No one predicted that. And Margot and Farmer are still on the team. As was Gallo all last year. Julien and Wallner only came up last year due to injury, and they carried the offense last year. They just don't promote his without injuries. This idea that young players force old guys off the roster just isn't what happens.
  10. You can't play young players if the roster is full..... This team does not promote his without injuries. It just doesn't. They can't play a guy off the roster. I mean, Farmer and Margot are still on it....
  11. Santana has been quite good this year. First base production is down across the league, and he's been good compared to most other first baseman. Otherwise I agree.
  12. I agree on the defense.... Hopefully they put him where they want him to play, so he can get better.
  13. I'd likely promote Jenkins, mostly because FL has to cancel/delay so many games. But I'm not holding my breath on that. I think, and this is dreaming, that Keaschell or Rodriguez could help the Twins this year......because Buxton is going to get nicked up, and both could be MUCH better than Margot.....who will be forced into action if Buxton is nicked up.
  14. I'd prefer they keep him there and see what happens also. It's not like he's 19 years old.....Maybe they got lucky here, maybe not. Only one way to really find out. He's not blocking anyone at this point....
  15. strong disagree. Many of us were for Miranda/Kiriloff as the option. Many of us. A team that is cutting payroll left and right isn't bringing back Santana if Miranda ends the year healthy (big IF apparently).
  16. This, and they need someone to play these positions......I don't know if we'll see any more position player promotions (of top prospects) any time soon......
  17. Not listing Miranda as an option seems like a huge miss in this treatise. You completely ignored internal options. Margot plays a lot against RHP, and he's not good on defense at all. Saying his batting line, which is well below league average, and even more below corner OF average is acceptable? Ugh. Santana has been good, no doubt. Miranda could have been that good, and they'd have had money. That money could be useful at the break....
