  1. Agreed. But they are eight deep right now.... Most teams couldn't dream of that. We clearly didn't like the off season or trade deadline, but you swing and missed on the point completely.
  2. Zero chance they dfa Martin. Zero Farmer is starting today, and they love veterans. Love. Agree on Dobnak.
  3. Ryan likely lost for the year..... varland is likely a starter unless he utterly stinks, and even then might still be.
  4. He hasn't played even half a year in three years. Signing him is a huge risk for a team on a tight budget, which they are with Lopez, CC, and Buxton all signed. Not to mention Ryan and Ober...
  5. No way I sign this guy to a long term deal until he had one healthy season. A rich club could take this chance, but not this club..
  6. I'm sure people will complain the team doesn't have enough pitching.... They are down three starters, pretty much no team has that much depth. Not that I liked the original plan....
  7. Was really hot here in Portland in July. August has been ok ..... We don't get rain at all from May to September or October....
  8. He won't be back. Once a veteran hitter is here, they don't get cut. Not with this FO.
  9. Varland..... He's the second biggest wildcard after Duran
  10. Can't decide if I'm over watering new plants, or the heat is getting to them....
  11. Offer him retirement and a bench coach job. They don't trust him to play short and he isn't a hitter at all somehow anymore. The only way it makes any sense to have him in the majors is if Lee is hurt. If really like to root for a team that trusts is youth and jettisons bad veterans. I mean, if Lee is down, who the hell is he even going to mentor?
  12. They just cut payroll. They aren't signing Kepler for a big raise. Zero chance.... No chance.
  13. How many mentors do they need, beyond Vazquez, Buxton, Correa, Santana? If he can't really outplay anyone, make him a bench coach.
  14. On hitters and rest: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/dear-hitters-its-okay-to-take-a-break/
