  1. Doubling down? On this year? Unreal. They give the smallest amount of at bats to bad players. The data is out there. They don't have Margot, Vazquez, Santana, Wallner, Kiriloff types on their roster. Why are you mentioning players not even on the roster this year?
  2. Margot just isn't good. Martin might be. We'll never know if he doesn't play.
  3. For the same reason Margot has a job over Martin? In fairness, I think they want Julien to reset his brain.
  4. Can't play in to the lineup if a team sticks with guys that are among the worst hitters in baseball. How does one get an opportunity, if not given one?
  5. Every time. You don't need the DH if you don't score more runs...
  6. Letting Vazquez hit is unreal. Truly mind boggling.
  7. The plan isn't working. Sticking with it is bad management. I have no idea why Margot should be on this roster at this point. Other than that was the plan
  8. My guess? A good young player so they can have bad depth. My want? Margot, Farmer, or Santana. I mean, I'd do Margot and Farmer right now and bring up kiersey and Lewis. Once Wallner is right, bring him up and move on from Santana.
  9. They are giving the least number of ABs of any team in the majors to replacement level or worse players......they just don't have bad players getting at bats this year. Yes, Soto is a HUGE help, but they don't currently have weaknesses at the plate.
  10. Trust Miranda/Julien/Kiriloff to play first base, for a starter. Don't use your scarce money on a backup. And another backup. And another backup. When you decide you won't have a good sized budget, you can't pay backups millions when you can use rookies for A LOT less. Might not work, but then you either learned they rookies can't be relied on, or got them ready for next year, or it worked. Now? Now we have a bunch of mediocre veterans, and they still aren't producing....
  11. Giant pop ups on my phone not allowing me to use the site without closing the ad
  12. A younger player will go down to the minors and I'll shake my head in disagreement.
  13. He should be playing some second, he's a lot more likely to play there soon than SS.
  14. Martin is old enough that it's ok if he's on the bench, imo. I dont see it hurting his development. And he's better on offense and baserinning.
  15. Who goes down? My vote is DFA Margot or trade or DFA Santana....
  16. I think he 100% accepts a one year deal for just over 20 million dollars. He can always be a FA after that year.....
  17. He's signed thru next year.....so he'll be back. That was sort of my point in the OP.
  18. If you are arguing, and I'm willing to listen, his "intangibles matter"......how much? He's literally got a historically bad batting line. How low would it have to go for you to care? I mean, Drew Butera looks like Hank Aaron compared to Vazquez's current batting line.
  19. What younger players? Julien? Miranda? Everyone else has 2+ years MLB experience. They also have Santana, Buxton, CC to mentor people. Really, how many leaders do you need?
