Minor trades, to get ten to fifteen more wins? This team must be pretty good if it only needs a couple tweaks.

Just teach Lewis to play LF. Play him there against LHP. Play him at third against RHP. There, platoon partner in.

Kepler also wasn't healthy the last two years, and isn't getting better at running or hitting. He isn't listed in any top 50 free agent list, not one.

UHG it's tricky right now. Insurance companies make more money during economic downturn, which is likely coming. But UHG makes insane money managing Medicare and Medicaid, which might get cut. The bipartisan bill to force insurance companies to sell their PBM business isn't likely to pass.... I'm any event, I'm likely cancelling plans to finish my basement, alas.

How about Royce learn to play the OF and he's the platoon partner? He can play third against RHP. Miranda has third against lefties and first against RHP. Not that that will happen....

There is no drag if they are willing to spend. This idea that winning doesn't have a cost? It has a cost. The cost in this case is the far future. They might not win, but they are certainly more likely to now.

I'm not all that interested in Casas, but I could be wrong. I'd need to think about this more. I think if you deal Ober, you are getting back the equivalent of 1 top 50 and 1 top 100 prospects, plus one more good prospect. He's a healthy number 2/3 on a cheap deal. That's worth an awful lot, given the scarcity of SP.

A LOT more would need to come back from Boston. Like, Casas has little if any excess value, imo.
