  1. nit pick- We lost 7 straight road games without pitching a ninth inning (although I think one of those games went extras)
  2. Also, short start expected today. Gibby has pitched well and I thought last night was a good night to let him pitch into deep, unknown territory. Of course 5 innings is the new 6 (quality start last night) and 90 pitches is the new 100, so there was pretty much no chance of that happening.
  3. I was watching. I didn't think he was gassed. They lost, and Molitor/Twins gets lampooned anyway.
  4. Possibly. But I wanted Gibson to go back out. It was the 5-6-7 batters. Molitor has got to let starters go longer.
  5. If Molitor lets Gibson pitch the 6th, the relievers are all pushed back an inning.
  6. Also it might go unnoticed, but with that pop out by Mauer the Twins are approaching a record for weakly hit foul pop outs tonight.
  7. Remember when Hunter and Morneau cared enough to get into a fight? Good times
  8. I am a hyper-competitive guy, and I am assuming a lot of these guys are too. Therefore... So I don't say this lightly but I'd like to see someone emerge with a black eye after this game tonight. Or water coolers. Even better. I guess.
  9. Kepler still cares. And Escobar. And Berrios. The rest?
  10. If you are calling that play "pathetic", there may be no hope for you J/k of course, it was far beyond pathetic
  11. Whatever happened to the art of getting hit by a pitch That was a perfect moment for it Edit: ninja'd, see above
  12. After fielding a ground ball single, Rosario feels it necessary to perform a magic trick with the ball. A little more chalant and less nonchalant please, Eddie * though I think it's probably too late
  13. Twins would have several in the top ten, for sure
  14. I was ready to forgive LogMo all his failure to that point, but guess not
  15. People can laugh, but I'm wondering if some combination of Lynn, Morrison and Rodney has actually thrown off the chemistry. Those guys to varying degrees are not known as the Gimenez and Belisle "awesome dude" types and none of them are getting the job done on the field.
  16. It has been common wisdom the last couple years (yes that's how long we've been having this Hughes discussion) that if the Twins let him go, some team would pick him up and pay the minimum salary and the Twins would be on the hook for the rest. Can we be sure anymore that a team would even pick him up for league minimum? If not, the Twins would be on the hook for his whole salary, not just whole salary minus minimum. So, might as well keep him? What is the thought process here?
  17. ironically, when he has two strikes Mauer does swing at a lot of bad pitches
