Congrats to Gonsalves for earning the chance to pitch in the bigs, though. Romero and Stewart look to have much better future prospects in MLB

    The Twins don't value Escobar more than most teams. Escobar was an "asset" to them that was traded away, for future assets. Said so right here on TwinsDaily He won't want to come back. I doubt the Twins will make him a competitive offer anyway. What makes you think they will?

    haha well, people were climbing on top of each other to praise the Logan Morrison signing, and Morrison was 30 with just one good season, ever, period.

    Well, what I'm trying to say is if Joe Mauer didn't exist, but there was a player available in free agency this winter who is one year removed from an .800 OPS, still gets on base above average, plays gold glove defense, even at 36, and is open to a one year deal as platoon partner or bridge to Rooker, this place would eat that up. That signing would get high praise here.

    well, not sure about Blue Jays, but if this was a different player not named Mauer, then probably yes? This site loves one-year deals -- never any downside to them. Unless it's Mauer.

    If you can stomach the learning curve Sano would need to play first, then all the better. I don't think I can. I'd rather have Mauer hand off to Austin or Rooker after another season or two. Also, Sano is a wildcard himself.

    Agree there must be a reasonable alternative to Mauer, but it just adds one more thing to do this offseason, for gains that are uncertain. (Think Morrison signing).

    Hasnt Donaldson been hurt, with dead arm? Would Sano at 3B and Donaldson at 1B would be better than what you proposed? Don't know, just asking
