  1. Putting two teams from the same geographic area together in the same division is a very stupid idea. It guarantees one team wins the market and the other becomes an afterthought. Why would MLB want to have only one of the Yankees or Mets in the playoffs when they could have both the Yankees and Mets in the playoffs instead? I think we will see geographic realignment to 4-team divisions, but we don't need to blow up the American and National Leagues.
  2. There are no infielders in AAA who look like they deserve a promotion. Do you want to call up Jonah Bride or someone who is hitting worse than Jonah Bride?
  3. Keaschall has no arm at all. I hope it’s due to the surgery and he can recover.
  4. Win/Loss record. The standard deviation in win percentage is lower in baseball than it for all of the major sports.
  5. Because they're charging $30 for the "cheap seats" on weekends in the summer. This is simple supply and demand.
  6. Go look at Joe Torre's record as a manager before he got hired by the Yankees. Now look at how Dusty Baker did before he turned 50.
  7. True, but there's also not that much difference between managers at the professional level. They all run the same batting and fielding practices. The differences are subtle and there is rarely a truly incompetent manager at the MLB level. If the Dodgers swapped managers with the Twins, would either team notice?
  8. Correa was often one of the players giving less than 100% effort. It's hard to call people out when you don't lead by example. Then everyone just thinks you're a hypocrite.
  9. I'd much rather pay to watch the Twins games than to watch Hulu. I have been very satisfied with the $100 I spent on Twins TV this season. I have mostly not watched the Twins for several years after cutting the cord on cable.
  10. Seven more revenue sharing teams lost a World Series in those 20 seasons. That adds up to almost 25% of the teams in the World Series. The Cardinals and Tigers are basically revenue neutral and they made it.
  11. Worth reminding people that baseball has the most parity of any major sport. The Brewers have the best record in baseball.
  12. Right now their only hope is he has learned from all the mistakes he has made, changed the way he values talent and come up with a new strategy. Anyone see any evidence of that?
  13. Buy tickets if you think the price is fair for the entertainment. Otherwise, don't. This is really a simple decision.
  14. Empty stadiums are fine with me. That leads to better ticket bargains. I just don’t want to be there if people are spending the game yelling at the owners.
  15. I’m pretty sure this is how it will be the rest of the season in the comment section “Why don’t they bring up the young guys from AAA” Twins bring up a rookie “This guy sucks, why did they bring him up from AAA?”
  16. I really hope every remaining game doesn’t turn into a protest for upset fans. People need to relax, literally. It’s a baseball game. It’s not important. It’s a chance to unwind and enjoy summer. I have been attending more Saints games lately, but mostly because the tickets are cheaper and access is easier from my house. I would attend a Twins game again even if the Pohlads continue to own the team because it’s not about them. It’s about me enjoying watching baseball at the highest level. I really don’t want other people telling me I can’t enjoy baseball anymore. If you are disgruntled please stay home. If you want to protest and change the world, pick something that actually matters. There are hundreds of other things that are broken in this world that could use that energy.
  17. Robust, but the return will be for a 1-season, expiring contract pitcher.
