  1. 2 and 3 are in direct conflict with each other. If they aren't worth anything to the Twins due to a lost 2027 season, then they aren't worth anything to any other teams for the same reason. I don't agree with #1. Joe Ryan is cheap and Pablo Lopez is getting paid way below market rate. If the Twins can't afford these guys then they will NEVER be able to build a contender. You can't contend with 26 players with less than 3 years experience on pre-arbitration salaries.
  2. Loved watching Keaschall hit the ball to the right side of the infield to bring the runner in from 3B. That situational hitting has been rare this season.
  3. Late developing often means they’re taking advantage of younger competition. Sure, Fedko might be better than Martin, but he’s most likely not and I don’t even like Martin. Fedko has a AAAA non-prospect profile like McCusker or Keirsey or Gasper. The odds are against his success.
  4. I don’t know how you read that between the lines. I find Austin Martin quite frustrating and was really happy they signed Bader. I just have low expectations for players who are old for their level and debut at age 26. Fedko reminds me a little of Dustan Mohr. Decent platoon player for a few seasons. Even Mohr debuted at age 25.
  5. They're both 4th OF, but Martin has already shown he can hit enough to be a 4th OF in the majors and Fedko hasn't yet. Martin has the higher floor and a similar ceiling. Fedko could be right-handed hitting Dashawn Keirsey. Gonzalez could actually become a starting outfielder.
  6. Fedko has very little upside. He might be good enough to hold down a bench job for a while but unlikely to ever become a starting caliber player.
  7. I expect Austin Martin would be the 2nd RH OF in the 2026 outfield. Fedko would be sent to AAA to wait for an injury callup.
  8. Contenders don't really need "bulk" relievers. Contenders have starting pitchers who can give you 5-6 innings consistently. Long relief is more of a need for bad teams than good ones.
  9. Fair enough on Abel. More of an issue with Bradley. Do they really think Jose Urena is a better option than Abel or Bradley?
  10. Based on the other news I've seen recently about Las Vegas, they probably will attract large crowds since ballpark prices on food and drink are still noticeably lower than casino prices.
  11. I am wondering what this announcement says about the next CBA. We're definitely not getting full revenue sharing with financial transparency. You might get a salary cap, but no floor. Less revenue to the players overall. 2027 season is unlikely, which may be why everything is getting sold off for prospects.
  12. I am actually baffled Koskie was elected instead of Santana.
  13. There is a lot of BS in this statement. If they said outright what they're doing the union would file a grievance.
  14. Miranda went 2 for 5 last night and Dashawn Keirsey hit a HR. My guess is the opposing pitching last night was pretty lousy.
  15. Carew stole 52 with Orlando in 1965. Knoblauch was never above 40 in the minors. Cesar Tovar stole 88 in 1961 and 56 in 1962 but he was a Reds prospect at the time.
  16. That's good. Most teams will use 9 starters to get through a season. Canterino is a name, but not someone I ever expect to see pitching in the major leagues. He hasn't thrown a competitive inning in three seasons. The track record of pitchers rehabbing after shoulder surgery is poor. If Canterino pitches in AAA it will be a minor miracle.
  17. I would rather have Bradley starting in MLB than Urena but I wouldn't want to move him to the bullpen right now.
  18. They're working on becoming a starting pitcher. Adding and refining pitches, working on consistency of mechanics to repeat location, pitch sequencing and tunneling. Training for the bullpen is like learning to be a sprinter. Training for the rotation is like training for the mile.
  19. That's what Pierson Ohl and Travis Adams are doing. The other starters are working on things in AAA and getting a lot more innings there than they would in MLB.
  20. He's been hitting leadoff a lot. The Twins 8/9 batters have been very bad. Not sure how that is Buxton's fault.
  21. I think the Twins would be perfectly happy having Culpeper and Jenkins play in the Double-A playoffs to end September. If they don't make the playoffs, I think both should spend the last 2 weeks of September in AAA.
  22. 0 for 3 last night and didn’t make a single play on defense. Time for a reset in AAA? Not serious, poking fun at other posts I’ve seen on this page.
