    You left out Austin Martin and Trevor Larnach who are both still around. I expect they will trade Larnach but doubt they do the same with Martin. I would also bet they give the LF job to Walker Jenkins before they give it to Fedko. They will need 6 guys for 4 spots between OF and DH. They have options but I doubt they start the 2026 season with Gonzalez, Jenkins, Rodriguez, Fedko or McCusker on the 26-man roster. AAA could have a very interesting outfield with Gonzalez, Jenkins and Rodriguez. I think the OF they have tonight is your likely outfield in April.

    The hot streak immediately after leaving makes it look like he wasn't giving 100% to the Twins. I really doubt that is the case, but that's how it looks.

    He didn't appear to know how to hold the bat when he was sac bunting last week. That isn't different.

    Keaschall has zero money earned and zero track record which gives him zero leverage. There is risk in extensions for unestablished players, but that's also why the potential reward is so high. He would have to collapse to the point where they need to release him to make 8 years, $60M a bad deal for the Twins. Ryan Jeffers, 1B, for 2028 would likely be as good or better than any option they currently have in the minors. Over the next 2 seasons, he's likely to be one of the top 20 catchers in MLB.

    You know how people talk about clutch not being a thing? Part of that is players who can't handle the pressure at MLB are weeded out pretty quickly. Gasper might be one of those players who can't block out the crowds and the bright lights. His spray chart is very pull-happy. I agree with this assessment.

    Morneau talked quite a bit about the swing adjustments Martin had made. They appear to be helping. The scouts will have to create a new plan of attack, then he'll have to adjust again.

    I would be perfectly happy to see the Twins “ride the arbitration roller coaster” with Bailey Ober. What I really want to see is a bounce back in performance so he can be traded.

    Ryan Jeffers is the most obvious candidate for a multiyear contract extension. The Twins need catching. If his defense slips behind the plate they can move him to 1B. Catchers rarely get a huge payday. I think 3/$40 would get it done. That would make him one of the top 5 paid catchers at a very affordable cost. It’s Mitch Garver money.

    Eeles can’t really play SS or 3B either. He plays 2B and LF. Ryan Fitzgerald is the backup utility player. Beyond that they probably use Will Holland or pay some other organization for their AAA SS.

    If you don’t like Lee at SS, you’ll hate Payton Eeles at SS. Eeles is a 2B or bust. They have Keaschall at 2B right now.

    Consensus seems to be the Twins got a little more for Bader than he was worth and a little less for Duran than what he was worth. Does it even out if you think of the trade as Bader and Duran for Tait, Abel, Mendez and Villoria?

    I am not fond of this plan, mainly because it's more than twice as hard to find 9 multiple-inning pitchers than it is to find 5. I would still make the top pitcher the starter and the lesser pitcher the reliever. My top 4 of the young guys are Woods-Richardson, Matthews, Bradley and Abel. That would make Festa, Adams, Ohl and Ober the 3-inning pitchers. I'm pretty sure Ober and Festa would be mad about that. Ohl is probably a 2-inning pitcher at this time, not 3. I also have a suspicion that the Twins plan is trade Joe Ryan at peak value this off season and for Pablo Lopez to stay and mentor the young guys. I expect them to trade Ober at next season's trade deadline if he's having an improved season.

    If that path leads to 1B, they need that as well.

    Outman also whiffed at 5 sliders down and in. Wasn’t even close. There is a reason he had a K rate around 40% in the majors.

    Castro had $2M left as well. Plus, eating the contract means you can sell them to teams who are paying the luxury tax. It opens up the market.

    The Twins could have received much better prospects if they were willing to eat more money. They saved at least $13M on the expiring contracts. If they send cash to all of those teams, they'll get better players in return. If they had eaten all $115M remaining on Correa's contract they probably could have had 4 of Houston's top 10 prospects. We all know that this team doesn't have money to buy prospects like that.

    Bailey Ober might be the one to move to the bullpen. His velocity is down and his effectiveness has gone down with it. Put him in the bullpen, recover the 2 MPH he lost on his fastball, and he might thrive.

    Be careful what you ask for. Now he plays for a sub-.500 team in a minor league stadium in Florida.

    He wouldn't provide more value if they used him in the closer role versus the fireman role he had. It might even reduce his overall value to the team.

    Varland would have to go back to starting to provide more value than he's provided this season in the bullpen. There is little upside for Varland as a reliever.
