Out for the season. Twins win the trade.

Why would a trip to the minors help? The only reason to do that would be to completely overhaul his swing. Culpepper is not impressing anyone so far. He’s hitting worse than Kreidler and Arcia.
  3. DJL44
Do you know who has the highest OPS and highest batting average of any batter in St Paul? Royce Lewis. Would you rather see Kreidler or Orlando Arcia?
  4. DJL44
Possibly, but I doubt we see Culpepper before September. He will probably not come up if there is a risk he burns an option in 2026. The club will want all three options available for 2027-29. His production on offense so far says he should stay in AAA. That gives Lewis the whole 2026 season to claim 3B for 2027.

The Saints are in Las Vegas this week so there could be a lot of different reasons for that.
  6. DJL44
I think that was Tom Kelly’s advice to David Ortiz.
  7. DJL44
Good idea for the minor leagues to get more innings out of your best pitching prospects. Minor league relief-only pitchers are generally roster filler with no future. It works because winning and losing is secondary to developing talent. That is not true in the major leagues.

Scored a run, drove in a run, made his plays on defense. Nothing to get upset about.
  9. DJL44
Olivar is 5’10” (probably measured in cleats) and has never played a game at 1B. This is his 3rd season in Wichita.
  10. DJL44
Me too, but that’s probably his upside. The kind of guy who’s useful for the three option seasons, then gets passed around the league on waivers.
  11. DJL44
He could be the next Danny Valencia
  12. DJL44
I don’t think Ober and Ryan will be pitching innings for the Twins in August. Someone will need to.
  13. DJL44
    Good news
  14. DJL44
Kody Clemens has an OPS+ of 80. His career OPS+ is 81.
  15. DJL44
Dominance by the Twins bullpen and clutch hitting by Wallner, just like you would expect.
  16. DJL44
So they should max out their outfield defense.
  17. DJL44
I expect Outman would be just as useless as a pinch hitter. 76 OPS+ sucks but it beats the hell out of a 40 OPS+.
  18. DJL44
Festa is looking more and more like someone with a chronic injury that has put his career in jeopardy.
  19. DJL44
The Twins are 29th in groundball percentage among all MLB pitching staffs. They're an extreme flyball staff.
  20. DJL44
Either would be more helpful than Outman. The player I really wanted was Roden but he's on the IL.
  21. DJL44
It doesn’t really affect them at all. Bad defense certainly affects the pitching staff.
  22. DJL44
Can anyone name a team that developed enough pitching to fill the rotation AND the bullpen with homegrown pre-arbitration players. It’s a nearly impossible task.
  23. DJL44
I would suggest platooning Lewis with Gray except Lewis has been terrible against LHP. He has a 720 OPS vs RHP and 420 vs LHP.
  24. DJL44
    Honorable Mention to Tristan Gray
  25. DJL44
I wish Outman was as good as Margot or Gallo
