  1. Let Mike Veeck run the team. He'd be able to keep the crowd happy and the turnstiles spinning even if the team stinks. Nothing attracts a crowd like a crowd.
  2. Pineda is one of the pitchers the Twins must replace with a better option if they want to contend. Does anyone want to see Pineda starting a playoff game?
  3. He's using an unusual fastball delivery to get good results. Eventually big league hitters will adjust and he'll need to use his secondary pitches.
  4. The "he hasn't made an error at SS" argument is pretty ridiculous. He's been a below average fielder at 2B and 3B. What about that makes you think he'd be a good option at SS? Nick Gordon is one of the players they need to replace if they want to contend.
  5. What else are they going to spend money on? Starting pitching is their biggest need. They're probably not going to sign a shortstop to a big contract with Royce Lewis in the minors. The rest of the lineup is average or better at their position. The pitching staff has one pitcher with a WAR above 0.8 - Bailey Ober. They need as many as 10 pitchers on the 40 man roster to be replaced with better talent to contend. Of course they need to obtain some of that pitching through free agency.
  6. Injured or consistently terrible (or both) is representative of the 2021 Twins.
  7. I think you released this article about 6 months too early.
  8. If pitching as well as Berrios is so damned easy how come almost nobody else can do it? He's one of the top 30 pitchers in the league.
  9. None of them will be promoted in September. Some are out for the season with injury.
  10. I thought what was really desired was to get all your rookies promoted at roughly the same time so they can grow together (see 1982 Twins). They clearly aren't going to add anyone to the roster who isn't absolutely required to be added to the roster. As far as I know the only AAA prospects who absolutely have to be added to avoid being selected in Rule 5 are Jose Miranda, Joe Ryan and Jovani Moran. Right now I am betting they all finish out the AAA schedule but those are your only possible roster adds between now and November who are actual prospects. With the Maeda injury the front office might be ready to tear this team down and trade everyone with 2 or fewer years of team control (Donaldson, Sano, Garver, Taylor Rogers, Tyler Duffey and Buxton).
  11. Can't they bring Barnes back when rosters expand on 9/1?
  12. The front office is clearly avoiding adding any player who may have a future with the team. Are they tanking? Playing service time games? Worried about negotiations in the upcoming CBA? Did someone lose a double-dog dare? We'll see Randy Dobnak return but I'm starting to think our "callups" on September 1 will be Charlie Barnes and Kyle Barraclough.
  13. Agreed, they need to bring in as many pitchers in that price range as possible.
  14. It's 18 games. He was completely overmatched in the big leagues.
  15. m*a=m*a. Force is the same, not more. Exactly the same.
  16. Are you trolling? It's a half an ounce. Force = mass * acceleration. Whatever additional mass will subtract from the acceleration - same force.
  17. Last year was one of the hardest to judge for that draft with no minor league season to go on. These players have developed into big league prospects over the course of this season. I don't think Jovani Moran would have been successful in the majors in April. I'm not entirely sure he'll be successful in September.
  18. Sano is the guy I'd be looking to trade. He offers the least bang for the buck. Expect Miranda to bounce back and forth between AAA and the big leagues next season.
  19. The way this season is going I would guess the day they designate Andrelton Simmons for assignment is the day before two other infielders end up on the disabled list.
  20. I don't know about you but I wouldn't enjoy spending every waking moment with my co-workers. I really wouldn't want to live next to my party-all-night bachelor co-workers. Let people live where they want to live.
