It was great watching Prielipp and Rojas pitch all but the last two out. I was hoping Rojas would finish it off and he really wanted to stay in. Both looked really good. I could see these guys starting their careers in the BP but they look like major league starters to me.

I have not gone back to look at the threads around the time Shelton but I remember most were disappointed because he had been with the organization previously and he represented more of the same. Three weeks into the season and nothings the same. Talk about a roller coaster.

How could you possibly know what Philly offered or perhaps more importantly what other offers were out there and Falvey picked the Able / Tait offer. It sure seems like blind hatred when any move that does not work out is Falvey's incompetence but any move that does work out must have fallen in his lap.

Yep, A lot of people were worried about Falvey making trades in a rebuild scenario. However, 6 years of Abel is likely to be a lot more valuable than 2 years of Duran and of course Tait looks like he could be a major contributor as well. Taj Bradley is also almost certain to be a lot more valuable than Jax. We shall see on the Varland trade. I remain skeptical on that one but Rojas does have the stuff to be a font of the rotation SP. Our weakness has been drafting guys that stick as starters. The current rotation was acquired through trade other than Ober.

Below are Fedko's stats for 2026 before the big day Sunday. 107 BA and an OPS of 240. We might want to wait just a bit before promoting based off of one really great game. I watch about 60% of the Saints games and I have been rooting for Fedko. I love the underdog. However, until yesterday, Fedko looked bad. Hopefully he goes nuts going forward!

No argument but their weakest link is a switch hitter. It would be a really big deal if Culpepper could do something similar to what "Keaschall" did last year. Replacing the weakest link with an above average bat that can steal a base and play "D" would be big.

The Twins need to teach our players to exercise some discretion as to when they challenge. Our players don't seem to apply any analysis of the situation. They should understand that challenges in the early innings on calls with two out and nobody on when the call does not determine the outcome of an AB likely won't change the outcome of the inning. They need to teach players a hierarchy. A challenge with no outs or 1 out is more valuable that with 2 outs. A challenge with runners in scoring position is probably the most important and a challenge that determines the outcome of an AB (K or BB) with runners in scoring position is the most important. They should take it away from Wallner all together. He uses it in meaningless situations and he sucks at it.

Am I imagining this or were most people down on Bradley over the off-season. I thought a lot of people were calling for him to be put in the BP. It's a little early to celebrate but this has the chance of being an extremely important trade for this franchise.

There is hope because their top prospects happen to play 3 of their 4 weakest defensive positions. That being SS and the two corner OF spots. They still need to come up with a 1B solution. Perhaps Mendez or Gonzalez can fill that role in time.

I think what you have outlined for Roden & Outman will take place in the next couple of weeks if Roden continues to perform. As to your amazement of the obvious being ignored, it looks to me like the influence of an owner with no clue of how to run a baseball team. Wouldn't it make sense that Falvey tried to take a stand against what you describe as obvious and Tom P said let me show you what's obvious and showed him the door. I fear that we have an owner without a clue that is unwilling to take input. Falvey may not have been the best PBO in the league but did the situation just get worse? Do we have someone with minimal knowledge of running a baseball organization calling all the shots? Worse yet, is he unwilling to accept input? Do we know have a bunch of yes men because they don't want to go the way of Falvey? I fear this is the case, and TP will continue to act as if this team is a contender which would be extremely frustrating.

I just hope they get their head out of the sand, accept this is not remotely a playoff team, and start making personnel decisions accordingly. That means if Culpepper is good for the next month and Lee continues to be below average offensively; Culpepper is given a shot to play most every day, Same scenario with Larnach/Roden.

I am not convinced they tried to trade Larnach this off-season. I assumed that was the purpose of tendering him an offer. However, after Tom Pohlad's comments, I believe that retaining Larnach was important to TP's delusional belief this team would contend. Therefore, he has chosen Larnach instead of moving on to Roden / Jenkins / Rodriguez / Gonzalez.

I agree in that there is a lot of speculation in my opinion. However, there are a few things that are not speculative. 1. If the insistence this team was a contender and personnel moves should track with that narrative was Falvey’s, Tom could have changed directions. Those type of trades take place in January / February. Freddy Peralta was traded on 1/21 and McKenzie Gore on 1/22. 2. Larnach’s was offered arbitration on 1/9. That decision did not support rebuilding. 3. Joe and the Pohlad family decided to cut payroll even further while stating they were building around Lopez/Ryan to make a run this year. 4. Joe publically stated something to the effect that the team had to contend this year. It certainly appeared from this and other public statements that Joe and/or the family chose this direction. I would concede we don’t know what they were offered but we heard absolutely nothing in terms of trade rumors and they stated public ally they were not considering offers. I have a very hard time believing there were offers but those negotiations remained completely secret. I also have a hard time believing that they would not have received any good offers for Ryan/Lopez/Buxton. They were all sell high candidates. If Ryan gets hurt or underperforms, the failure to cash in on these assets has the potential to be quite detrimental for the next 6-8 years.

Yes, the Twins and Cardinals were in a very similar positions at the start of the off-season. Yet, they took a very different approache. I am of the belief that this was Tom Pohlad who chose this direction. IDK about you but I have a lot more faith in the Cardinals organization than I do Tom Pohlad based on what we have seen. I have always tried to balance the criticism of the Pohlad's because they were never really impacted the team. They spent in line with revenue and let the PBO run the show. Based on what happened this off-season, I think ownership is now a major obstacle and I sure hope they sell very soon.

Caratini is pretty low on the list of our roster problems. Larnach is the biggest problem followed by Lee in the role of starting SS. Even Outman is not a big problem in the CF / Defensive replacement role similar to what Kiersey provided.

I have no expectations of this team getting to the playoffs so I am thinking in terms of developing players and a roster that can compete as soon as next year. I am not worried about scaping up another win or two if that pursuit costs us in terms of development. Therefore, I have no problem giving Lee his chance until it's evident we have a better solution.

I don't have great confidence in Wallner but he was very good in 23/24. Good enough that I would like to give him a chance to test these changes. I think there is a spot for him until we come up with two corner OFers good enough to push him aside as a starter and another one to push him aside as a 4th OFer/DH.
