  1. And could also receive revenue sharing again depending on where that video broadcasting contract comes in, so the worst case shrinks from there. still, a $10M haircut would hurt a lot. what we don’t really know is, who are the competitors to buy the contract. It’s wide open including MLB and Pohlad companies, as well as other RSNs, streaming platforms, and maybe local TV. It might be a revenue increase, because the legacy contract had some legacy ownership stake in FSN. make no mistake, projected revenue will have a direct impact on spend next year and going to the ALDS with projectable upside to continue post seasons in the future absolutely helps that revenue upside too.
  2. Exactly As a catcher, Joe Mauer played 133 games per year. After, 134, but made a position change. as a CFer, Buck has played 84 games per year (average leaving out rookie and ‘20). Why would we expect Buxton to play more games after surgery than before? he’s had a couple tremendous hitting seasons, but overall averaged 105 wRC+. It might be fair to expect better than 105 wRC+ due to recency bias, but probably not realistic to expect him to be anywhere close to the 140 of his best season. sure 2023 is likely a low point in his career, but it’s not a deep hole in his chart relative to his career. It’s average, so expecting significantly more isn’t realistic at all
  3. Yup, I think I had 85 wins, and 87 is close enough. Winning a playoff series exceeded my expectations
  4. And Buxton? super disappointed and feel bad for AK, hope he recovers well and soon.
  5. I wouldn’t mind a bulk 5 pack of premium front of the rotation starters, but I’m not sure Costco has them in the TV section
  6. Great season and post season! Thanks to all the game threaders for some great discussion!
  7. Chris Paddack has been just awesome to watch. So much energy and excitement!
  8. I disagree with pretty much everything you have ever posted. I agree with most of this. you do see on TD fairly regularly “it was a bad call, but it went the Twins favor so I won’t complain” replay absolutely sucks.
  9. I would think after plunking him twice, the umps would toss Ryan, but maybe that’s all a part of the plan?
  10. me last night Today
  11. That, and…. You know… the Twins do still have a shot at beating the Astros
  12. This! Can’t win every game, even in the post season, but it’s fun to watch a competitive game. no fun to watch a beat down
  13. I sat next to Donovan Solano’s family
  14. He almost threw the fans under the bus, but didn’t. He must be trashed, cuz sober-DSP throws the fans under the bus every time I hear him
  15. Royce isn’t the only Twin to rise to the occasion multiple times this season. Pablo Lopez, Sonny Gray, Max Kepler in the second half, Ed Julien have all picked up their games to win when they needed it. Clutch…. The truly impressive part about Royce, is he stands out and raises his game above those already lofty standards. it feels different this year
  16. Yup, and seems to happen every time I moderate a post.
  17. I thought they nabbed Stevenson so when MAT came back they could waive Stevenson and not lose Celestino. turns out, it was likely a performance/trust thing as you suggest
  18. Medina has a 5.64 ERA, it’s a possibility
