Agreed, but even for only 15 days, it’s good to hold on to depth. Ryan isn’t the only starter showing signs of wearing down/hurt/injured. Varland could be up any day now.

amazing recovery from cancer to pitch in the MLB again, disappointing he was injured almost immediately.
I dunno, honestly. I don’t understand and don’t like that the team failed to improve the team at the trade deadline.
the article seemed to say that the FO may have changed their goal as a response to Cleveland unexpectedly selling. I think it’s a failure to neither buy nor sell at the deadline. It’s not an adjustment to stand still, but that’s what the article seemed to say.
If none of the squishy stuff matters, why not root for Cleveland or Tampa? What keeps you coming back to watch the Twins? Why not just root for the best team in baseball every year. Why not be a mercenary?
The White Sox are selling off
The Guardians traded away Civale for a minor league bat.
Do the Twins sell too? Seems like no one wants to win this pitiful division
Since when does Sonny Gray swing a bat?
if you’re having trouble scoring runs, isn’t it more important to suppress opponent runs?
im not saying they shouldn’t trade Gray, I just don’t get this logic.
Sonny Gray is a top 10 starting pitcher in MLB. I’m not sure how he could get it more together or earn more run support. If anything, the Twins should go to 6 starters for a while to give them a breather
Correct, Moran put two runners on, Pagan gave up the three run homer. Pagan allowed two inherited runners to score. Those are as much his runs as Moran’s.
FWIW, Moran needs to go too, but it’s not realistic to expect a bullpen full of Durans.
I never said Julien was the answer, only that Kepler is a problem.
the Twins absolutely MUST get more hitting from the outfield, and Kepler (and Taylor) are the two most prominent holes in the lineup out there. Neither one of them should be starting regularly
At 100 plate appearances by wRC+ Kepler Ranks 36th in the MLB. That means 5 teams have given 100 plate appearances to two Right Fielders that hit better than Max Kepler.
by OPS he ranks 34
Batting average he ranks 46
Even after a monstrous couple weeks, Max Kepler isn’t an MLB starting Right Fielder, and I think that’s a problem.
