  1. To fans? Players? The Pohlads? to fans and players? I imagine so to the Pohlads? Probably not, unless it’s an indication of next year’s season ticket sales.
  2. Currently on the Twins by OPS limited to 10 including Arraez Keaschall .911 SSS Buxton .874 Wallner .812 Martin .756 SSS Jeffers .742 Larnach .734 Clemens .718 Arraez .704 Lee .678 Lewis .664 Ty France has a .328 OBP and .368 SLG, is a better fielder than Arraez. Arraez has .317 OBP .387 SLG. The Twins had to pay a major league reliever to offload the remainder of France’s $1m salary at the deadline. If they spend money on FA, they need to aim higher.
  3. Bradley looks like he has no idea where the ball will end up
  4. The Pale Hose were not eligible for the lottery last year because they had paid in to the revenue sharing and tanked the year prior. As this is 3 years in a row, why would they become eligible again?
  5. Have you checked lately? His OBP this year is .316…. And somehow his slugging got worse too, .388. That’s a .704 OPS for someone who provides negative fielding and running value. Ty France is a much better fielder, with similar on base and slugging, and the Twins had to package him with Varland to offload his $1million contract.
  6. It’s a draft lottery now like NBA and there’s anti-tanking rules, that the Pale Hose and Rockies have both tanked multiple years, pick 1 is still in the cards
  7. Concur! @Matt Braun is one of my favorite writers here because of those nuggets, and just the right amount of snark. let the trudge to the finish line continue!
  8. Absolutely agreed on the last part. The window isn’t just closed, they traded it away along with the front door. They can’t go back now. All in on the rebuild. honestly MLR, you were one of the few dissenters of the Correa re-signing, and now you’ve shown more restraint than I would have.
  9. Before the scorched earth trade deadline Ryan for 26 and 27 had a higher likelihood of contributing to a playoff run than the 11 prospects acquired, one of which might have a chance to maybe become valuable to the major league club some day. One of Bradley or Abel might actually be a legit MLB pitcher. now? Sure trade away the bits and pieces left over. They traded away 40% of their roster and got back next to nothing. If they’re going to suck, does 65 wins matter more than 60? Nope so sure, trade Ryan away for a package of prospects of which one of whom might be good someday. In 4 years, they might be a .500 ball club again.
  10. Did the Amish ride their horse and buggy to the fair?
  11. Now, sure. The house has a couple of studs standing, but pretty much it’s just a basement. If those couple of 2x4 s can get something in trade, might as well. this isn’t mutually exclusive. It wasn’t an “or” at the trade deadline, but it became a foregone conclusion with a drastic course change. An incremental approach can do the same thing without watching a horrible team. The dithering of this FO has been so angering.
  12. Wallner - ‘25 is down, but ‘24 better than ‘23, better than ‘22
  13. But will his raise be higher than if he alters his swing mid season? Motivations not outcomes. i agree he’s sucked, but the tinkerers on the club have sucked too.
  14. Are they? How so? what is it about competing in the future prevents a team from competing now?
  15. Phil Hughes. Was he the only one? having received successful PT for TOS, I feel for Wheeler. It’s excruciating! The PT is almost as bad as the pain from the nerve damage. Spreading your ribs with fingers and tools hurts really bad!
  16. I do not want to watch perpetual mediocrity, but mediocrity is a hell of a lot better than the AAA crap we have been watching post tear down. It is possible to field a good team and build for the future without a scorched earth rebuild
  17. Even more reason to watch those stats with an arb2 raise on the horizon and a 4th year arb before free agency
  18. What gets measured gets results, and people respond to incentives. Royce is going in to his first year of Arbitration. The stats are how the arbitration process gets settled. I find the candor refreshing.
  19. Somehow I think RBS would take a thumbs down from you as an accomplishment.
