  1. The roster has changed too. You can’t make a silk purse from a sow’s ear, but you can make dog chews. Expecting Rocco to call an old school game with players who’ve never played an old school game since little league is a recipe for failure. Swap out some players who have a lower upside but better fundamentals because they were developed outside of the Twins will give any manager a different skill set to work with. all this being said, eff it, blow it all up, this team is a mess.
  2. To your other point and this one, agreed wholeheartedly that Baldelli is a problem but not THE problem. i don’t really understand to what level Baldelli is responsible for organizational player development. Certainly the major league hitters are not developing under his management of the major league staff. Pitchers seem to be, evidenced by Ryan, SWR, and a whole bunch of relievers taking steps forward as major leaguers. he is clearly not a strong tactician, but also hasn’t hired strong tactical bench/pitching coaches. A good business manager knows his strengths and hires lieutenants that have complimentary skills. I hope a new manager might do this, but am fairly certain we’ll get another Baldelli for as long as Falvey is the GM
  3. The Woonsocket Rocket has 6 years of experience as a major league manager. How long should a person do their job before they should be considered “experienced”?
  4. To be fair, their 9 hitter has a better OPS than all but 4 Twins hitter
  5. Second inning 10-2 my season ticket buddy looked at me, says “ill just throw it out there, that leaving now is an option”. we stuck it out and had a ton of fun watching a loser.
  6. How bad could the Marlins radio guys be to be ranked that much worse than Gladden?
  7. It may have been about developing Zebby. About 30% of the fans were wearing Yankees gear, they were really into the game for the first couple innings.
  8. I’m sorry to hear that. My wife is a cancer survivor, 16 years ago. It’s such a difficult road.
  9. Provus: “Here’s Nick Gordon, he wants to be a broadcaster and call games.” Gordon: (dead air for a solid minute with nothing happening)
  10. Agreed, I think Falvey completes the teardown this offseason. Jeffers, Ryan and Lopez are his big three trade chips. Wallner is a distant 4, unless Buxton changes his mind. i totally get your position, and this is where I was at pre-deadline. Since, the entire team has collapsed to the point where selling it for spare parts is all they’re getting.
  11. There is no Wallnach. Wallner and Larnach are not interchangeable.
