  1. I really don't see it as a big mystery. The other leagues have stopped and this way they get one more opportunity to pitch. Where they are next year is the big question
  2. I am only impressed with players who play the whole season. I don't need half-season Stars.
  3. Sorry but not doing well in non save Situations is not something to ignore. He has been ok overall but fair below expectations.
  4. The way these trades went well is if we had extended Gray. Giving up Steer was a big loss.
  5. I think Alcala is the big story. All season we've been hoping he would expand the quality relief corps, but over and over he has failed. Duran s definitely not what he used to be. For a team that relies so much on his bullpen these are bad issues.
  6. I asked the people in Lisbon what they thought of the twins and they looked around and couldn't see any. I guess our twins are not on their mind, but I am certainly glad to see Buxton and Correa back in the lineup. I'm expecting to hear more news as I travel around Europe so keep this happening. Although I do agree the bullpen is another issue and I just hope that somebody can step up there
  7. Glad to see someone taking the high route - I am leaving town and country for a while, it is up to all of you to cheer them on. I will check in as much as I can, but ready for some changes.
  8. I have read all the comments. There is nothing left to say. Good or bad, this is a very disappointing time for the team. Having a three game lead for the last WC is fine, but what does it truly mean? The Twins play like they don't care and attendance says the fans don't either.
  9. Good article. I agree with you. The judgment of what Keirsey can't do is projection without substantiation. He can place center field. He has played well and has time to see what he can do.
  10. Eeles and McCusker could be two infusions of energy and hot bats. After reading the Lewis article I see players like this that are hungry and still filled with energy as the pep pills the Twins need.
  11. After reading your article I went to the minor league review and it struck me that maybe someone like Carson McCusker who has been hot at every level might be a good addition. Good bat, good attitude. Plug him in at DH and see if he can continue his good season. What's to lose?
  12. There is no ready solution to this. It really is up to the player to work with the team leaders and find the energy and the drive that we saw earlier. It is still there, but he is letting a lot of other issues, injury recovery, long season, change of position, perhaps frustration with the team or management get to him. If he is healthy, he needs some conversations that will shift his attitude.
  13. It is so sad that we are so close and yet so many of us are also discouraged. This should be the time when hope rises and our quest for the full season should be inspiring. But it's not. Your review was too accurate.
  14. Wallner has a great arm for RF, Larnach is fine in left, Keirsey is holding for Buxton or Emma or some other player to take the spot. We will not know if Keirsey can hit in MLB unless we give him enough ABs to show us. I suspect he will.
  15. He has been a decent player but we expected more from him and thus are disappointed. His cost alone means he is gone and with the players coming up through the system it is okay - Emma, Walker, Keirsey along with Wallner and Larnach give us a good crop to fill the positions and maybe Buxton will play a few games too.
  16. This was the perfect set up for a complete game for Ober. He has to be frustrated. At 83 pitches he still had enough to keep rolling, but this team just has to use its RP and RP has not been what was expected at the beginning of the season. Duran is off this year and I will leave it to all of you to figure out why, but he is not the lights out guy we have had in the past. Why did Farmer come in to replace Santana? At the end of the game Santana's glove is too important to remove. I know we love PH, but Julien was finally having his kind of night and we PH Castro who went out (of course). We should have had this game. It is really looking bad. We need to play some more sub 500 teams quickly.
  17. I would say that Wallner has been the spark but the rest are not following him.
  18. I am excited to see Eeles in the majors - I hope things open up for him, but right now I do not see how he will fit with the team we have. Who goes if he stays? Some logjams coming - good ones.
  19. It is about time and I'm tired of hearing that they had to keep them stretched out as a starter. Too many pictures over the years have gone into the pen and back out to start.
  20. Trades need to be made to open up the routes to the Majors. I see Julien moving on. Keirsey is a good trade chip if they let him debut with enough ABs to intrigue buyers. Santana should be gone. Kepler should be gone. Margot and Farmer I hope are gone. So some openings are starting to appear.
  21. McCusker looks like a perfect DH. I think there is a lot of trade potential in this crop. But I hope Paddack is not in the rotation next year. Keep building with the young arms.
