  1. Yes, he could replace Bride. I would like to see him called up and given an extensive run to show what he can do. Maybe we have our own Altuve.
  2. I asked this last week not anticipating the injuries we have not had - but who are the next three in line to be SP if needed?
  3. both he and SWR should be in the pen instead of Funderburk and Alcala!
  4. One game - not enough to judge the pitcher. Note that the rotation have all had clunker games - it happens. Stick with Festa, bring up SWR or Adams and have them in the pen, ready to piggyback or step in if anyone falters.
  5. Wow. Sorry for Festa. Alcala did what I posted yesterday. He looks promising for a couple games and then implodes. Bottom of the pen is not good. Glad to see Wallner back in the lineup. Twins were terrible. Then they were great. And now 50,-50 which are they?
  6. I have to join the chorus of NOsssssss!!!!!!!!!!!. Have you looked at how many RP we use in each game? We have played 61 games - Varland has already been in 31 and Duran and Jax 29. And Sands 27. Do you really want us to have a weaker BP every other day when Varland and Jax are not available. Stewart has had too many injuries to completely depend on him. Coloumbe is already injured. Alcala or Funderburk are not pitchers I want to be regularly in high pressure situations. Topa I do not know, but overall I do not want the pecking order changed and lower level RP moving up.
  7. No better arms for Lewis to get going. A's RP is not pitching - they are for batting practice. But when I hear 0 - 32 for Lewis I think any hit against anyone is important and I loved his smile - get his enthusiasm back and the bat will follow.
  8. Morris is a disappointment so far this year and would not be on my list. I am very impressed with Wichita's SP - they seem to have a better rotation that ST Paul so far. Who will take Festa's place in St Paul. As I asked in another thread - who are the next three pitchers ready for call up now that Festa is up?
  9. I am looking forward to Festa's return - not Pablo's absence. This not moves us down the list is SWR next in line? Where is Morris - his era is over 4 in AAA (Raya and Lewis have not had good seasons so far)? Can someone give me the next three? Is Adams ready? Does someone in Wichita look ready? Their stats are very good. Bader and France and Clemens have really been good pickups - of the three I think Bader has the staying power. I love the way he plays and the enthusiasm he shows. Still wondering why Bride is on the roster, but otherwise the team is going great and WIlli Castro is competing for team MVP again. One random thought - I would not sit Wallner no matter who is pitching.
  10. He has had many good games - the problem is that his bad games are awful and too frequent.
  11. No matter what Kody does the rest of the season he is already a legend in Twins lore.
  12. My post was not a call to trade, but to be strategic if they decide to.
  13. It really depends on what we would get back. The early we traded the higher the value, but are we sure we can afford to take him out of the rotation? Are Festa and SWR as good as he is? If we trade the Yankees are in desperate need and desperation raises the value of the return. Arizona needs someone now that Burnes is down. If we trade - maximize the opportunity.
  14. I am going to enjoy this feature. Not sure it is worth a weekly column, but still the movement of prospects on TD and nationally is fun to follow.
  15. Move on - sometimes a fix is not possible when you repeat the same things in the same places! Talent yes, performance erratic, dependable - no. Keep bringing up arms until we get what we need - that's why we have a minor league.
  16. When Royce came up and mashed he was cocky and confident. Now he is morose and confused - the reset is as much mental as physical He needs to go somewhere that he can start hitting and feel good about himself again.
  17. I am not sure this is what fans need to hear. The Twins are now in their 65th season. They have been to the WS three times, they have won two. They endured a record playoff losing streak. Owners threatened us with contraction. Then we were winning the owners announced that they were not going to do anything about it. And even before that Calvin Griffiths racism cost us Rod Carew. The fans and all the other Minnesotans have paid for a good portion of three stadiums. I remember when were told that we needed to have an inside stadium and then when the next argument was that baseball is meant to be played outside. We have had seasons like 2016 where our run differential was -167 and we had a 364 winning percentage! We also had 2011 63 - 99 -185 run differential and 2012 - 13 both 66 - 96 with run differentials of -174 and -131. By decade - 1960s 862 747 .536 1970s 812 794 .506 1980s 733 833 .468 1990s 718 833 .463 2000s 863 758 .532 2010s 765 855 .472 2020s 356 352 .503 Minnesota Twins 1961-2025 5067 5117 .498 It has always been the long view, but then football came along and saw that people wanted my instant gratification and basketball rose because people wanted non-stop action. (I cannot explain soccer). Perhaps what the article should have been is congratulations you long term fans who have stuck around even then the stadium deflated along with the team.
  18. I loved the game - sometimes even a loss can be enjoyable - that is baseball! This game does highlight the TD article on how much our RP are being used - not much choice in an extra innings but two more innings by Ober and we save two RP. I do agree with the comments on Alcala - time to move on.
