    We have had players return from injuries every year. When did it make a positive difference to the teams record at the end of the season.

    This is a really tough decision - I like Bader and Castro and think they have really been positives on a team of negatives. Lee and Lewis are massive disappointments based on their draft positions and expectations. What we cannot know is if Keaschall comes back to what we saw - remember Lewis also had a great beginning that was derailed by injury. Larnach is at a plateau - is it high enough to keep him? I am not a believer. Wallner showed promise and like the other comparisons has been derailed by injury. Can we count on him? Should he be a DH? How soon can Walker get here? I am not a believer in Emma - too many injuries and not enough performance for me. So who else is ready for the OF? Gonzales? Will they give Eeles a chance? Can they stop putting in Vasquez every other game? Is Clemens the new 1B and can he be good enough? I am not a believer in Miranda or Julien any more. Miranda is batting 194 in AAA and has a 558 OPS. Julien has an 845 OPS so he has a chance.

    Nice historic perspective - it is always easy to look at a current player and elevate him above past players who have dimmed in our memory. I think you did a good job of answering your own questions - and I agree with the following:

    We no longer need the comedic columns - the Twins provide enough on the field. At least Minnesota Nice prevailed and we are trying to help the Rockies from the worst record in history so our friends in Chicago can retain that distinction.

    With Vasquez going and no viable minor league option I cannot envision them trading Jeffers. I think Ryan is also untouchable. None of the young arms look good enough to replace him and Ober has to prove he can pitch again. I think the core needs Ryan with Lopez for the future. Beyond that we have reached a point of no return and we need to move on.

    One good thing about Western games - it is easy to turn them off and get some sleep or a drink or both.

    I guess the team decided to be proactive - no questions - just sell and start over. The suspense is gone

    SP would pace themselves when they expected to go nine - now they are like RP that throw max as long as they can and then it is the pen. I do not see anything from Paddack that shows me he has the extra MPH for short bursts

    It is sad to see him struggle like this and it has taken away the hope he gave us when he first became a Twin, but if we put this in another context, what is happening with the Twins coaches? We have almost a coach for each player, yet Correa is struggling and causing us to wonder what his final years on the contract will be. We have Wallner who looked so good he was going to lead off and now we question our judgment. Larnach has stagnated, Lee does not look like the wonderkid we anticipated. Vasquez has spiraled down to the bottom of the barrel, Articles question France's value and Clemens is streaky and offers promise without follow through. What is the reason this lineup has fallen so far below expectations? Without Buxton, Castro and Bader all preseason expectations have been shattered.

    I had to double check my observations and see that he has a 6.75 era for the first inning so far this season - if he is a RP that is the only inning he pitches. Not a solution.

    I thought I would bring up Rooker just because mentioning his name gets one of the regular posters upset. But the only reason I bring him up is to bring up McCusker. Like Rooker if he has any chance to make the next jump start putting him at 1B of DH and give him at least two series of starts to get established. Let's hope Ober can move quickly to his past form and replace Paddack in the rotation. And even more important we need Keaschall back like he was. On MLB.com the former GMs were talking about the Twins and one recommended trading Royce Lewis to get good prospects. He likes Lewis but thinks the Twins are too fragile and need consistency. If Lewis goes, Lee to 3B and Keaschall to 2B sounds good right now.

    If that was the showcase game where we let all the suitors know how great he could be before we trade him, we just went down to DSL league for the prospect.

    RP throw one inning. Based on tonight and a few other games - that first inning does not look good.

    The Twins continue to inspire! It will take a few drinks to overcome my excitement, but then they have fixed so many of their pickups!

    I will be surprised. We seem to hesitate at each opportunity and hesitation means others make moves while we stagnate. Let's hope they surprise me.

    I see a lot of Sabato love lately, but is it truly justified? He is closing in on 27 and this is the first year he has approached the stats a number one choice should have. His stats are not much different that McCusker who is 1/2 year older. Why do we expect more from Sabato? In fact, Gasper had better stats and Bride is closing in on him. I am okay with promoting from the minors but only if we commit to a steady diet of starts for at least two weeks. Otherwise I think the best thing is for Keaschall to come back and either Wallner or Larnach to move to 1B and DH with Gonzales or Rodriguez moving into the OF.

    We wait and see if it is sold, we wait and see who buys and if they have connections to MN, we wait to see who they will hire and we wait and hope - that is all fans can do.

    As someone who really does not like the baseball All-star game I am curious - do you care? I find it boring. Most All-star pitchers find an excuse not to be there which leads to the Misiorowski controversy. We choose all-stars and many times they play less than the extra picks. By the time we eliminate all the players who opt out we still have 34 players on each roster. This includes 20 position players and 12 pitchers, plus any "legends" selections. 68 players! The site Heavy reported - "Wheeler isn’t alone. He joins a growing list of stars opting out of the All-Star Game this year: Julio Rodríguez, José Ramírez, Alex Bregman, Jeremy Peña, and even Jacob deGrom are among those sitting out." Even the replacement for the opt outs is opting out - MLB.Com - "Paredes, who made the All-Star team last year with the Rays shortly before being traded to the Cubs, was added to the American League All-Star team Wednesday as a replacement for Guardians third baseman José Ramírez, who was voted as the AL starter at third and chose to instead focus on recovery and the second half of the season." It is no longer Ted Williams winning the game with a HR - he would be out by that time. "The American League All-Stars were trailing the National League, 5-4, with two outs and two men on base in the bottom of the ninth inning when Red Sox star Ted Williams stepped to the plate in the ninth Midsummer Classic." "Williams finished the game 2-for-4 with a home run, double, walk and four RBI." Sorry but I have tuned out since the days of two all-star games in a year. There has to be something better. Agree or disagree?

    Like all baseball drafts I have no idea so I will wait for Seth to sort things out through the minor league reports.

    Typical of the year pitch good hit bad, or hit Good and hit bad. It's the reason we're struggling to be 500. But then there's Colorado if we don't make it to 500 then I'm not sure we can at any other point.

    Great game - besides Buxton really showing off his all-star status, Castro had another excellent game and I really do not want to lose him. And Anthony Misiewicz pitched like the DFA pickups usually do.

    You have some good points but remember the starts that some of our minor league prospects made in the majors. It's not unusual to take one or two call-ups before prospering. I wait to see what Petty does

    This looks like another DFA to me. That ERA for an AAA reliever is not promising.
