    I take Shelton off the list. He has done as well as anyone would with what he has - injuries to Buxton are the norm, Wallner and Lewis collapsing in the first half is not on him. Having a roster and minor league cupboard of lefthanded OF was not his creation. Spending was too little too late. Living with a poor BP was not Shelton's fault. Having Rogers in the pen all season is a symptom of how bare the shelf is. He is past productive but who can replace him. Having Gray play SS half the year was another part of poor roster construction since Kreidler had to be in the OF. Not moving on from Jeffers and Ryan was not his choice. Zoll number one, Pohlad number two in the pecking order. The players? Maybe we all over rate them.

    Rehab in September? No - exercise this month - rehab in spring if he can stay healthy over the winter.

    Interesting group - glad they had a good month. But I do not see any of them except Bohorquez making an impact with the Twins.

    I do not see this as a BP game - just because Morris started and went 1 inning. Prielipp went five - he was the starter in my mind. And I am against openers - I really do not see that it is a valuable idea. Loved the batting practice today, but my only downer is Morris five games in a row giving up runs - 9 runs in 5.1 (he needs to rest or change something).

    I have no faith for a good team finish this year, but I am intrigued by the young players and hope to see a different starting lineup next season from the one that started this year. With Lewis, Larnach, Roden, Martin possible excess as the new wave comes in the question is always - who wants them? A trade needs a partner. We will love Jeffers and I am not impressed by Caratini, but our young players are at least a year away. I have enjoyed all your summaries and will still be there at the end of the season.

    I taught for St Cloud - Northland College - Hamline and ran the Audubon Center. Now I am a guest lecturer on a cruise line. As you probably know as well - Pike made an expedition to discover the source of the Mississippi during the Lewis and Clark expedition and decided the source was Leech Lake.

    I am a big Zebby fan - maybe it is the name - I teach a lot of history and Zebulon Pike is fascinating. No SWR comparisons. I no longer believe in the WC - but I would like a nice end of the season,

    I had to laugh when I saw the headline - has there been a question headline with a more obvious answer? I will go ahead and say it anyway - Yesssssssssssssssss If I need a reason - look at the players who have been used - Gray, Kreidler, Jackson, Martin, Roben and tell me which of them has more talent or potential. Then look at Larnach and his second half slump or Lewis and his awkward strikeouts.

    I have been a committed Keaschal fan - a little dismayed by the over-the-top criticisms. But I understand - he is not a Cody Clemens - putting him at 2B, RF, CF, 1B in his first full year is a little too much. He will eventually settle into average defense if left to learn one position. But more importantly I think the essay is right -he is the best leadoff right now, although Culpepper and Jenkins look like they might give him a challenge and I love that - those three are really dynamic and I think Lee has matured into a really good fourth batter with Cody Clemens shocking me by how good he has been over the entire year. Nice fivesome - wish I had faith in Buxton coming back strong but have been burned too many times. Larnach has to be gone next year so maybe all the Emma fans will be rewarded. But who will catch and bat?

    I am still feeling frustrated after watching the game yesterday. Where is that drive that is expected from a team competing for the WC? Actually, the only competition for them now is to try to end the season with some respectability. Eight games under 500 - Tom Pohlad didn't you promise more? Why are we not playing more rookies. Culpepper and Jenkins are the bright spots even if Kaelen has had some fielding errors. I feel like Lee, Keaschall and Clemens are playing with energy. Bell is giving us what we need. But I have watched some of Lewis strikeouts and they are pathetic - 5 - 20 and no extra base hits. Buxton is not coming back to make a difference - time to stop dreaming about him and Ryan for this year. Jeffers is 2/18 and no extra base hits in the last five games. Caratini 1/14 Morris is spend - in the last 5.1 innings over the last five games he has given up 8 runs time to reduce his usage.

    The Twins had a chance to regain popularity if they could have won the first two games against the white sox - instead it looks like the Saints are the Twin City Favorites for now!

    Interesting article, but I don't have much faith in developing first base prospects. It seems as if our strategy is either to pick up a veteran on a one-year prove it contract or switch one of our players who can't handle their current position like Lewis then fill the position that way. Or use our extra catcher.

    I just keep putting him out - instead of pitches and innings - I let him go until he gives up three runs and go from there. Piggybacking means planning for failure. Let him adjust. Seven games under 500 - I am really not thinking wild card. I want to see the team do the things that will lead to a better 2027. Plan the young guys and roll the dice.

    My comment would reflect on the FO - what have they done to make the Tom Pohlad statements come true? Poor trade decisions, poor roster management, and rookie call up - if Culpepper can do so well maybe other top prospects could have too. This team is six games under 500. Even in a poor league in a poor year that is now a team that you do not make adjustments to.

    They are in neutral which is really tough. The team did not want to completely rebuild so we seem to have found a middle ground and sometimes that is the hardest place to get out of. Not trading Larnach and Ryan kept us at 500 - do we want to be there even if the rest of the league seems like it is on a treadmill? We are worse than the record of all five Eastern Division teams. We are third in our own crappy division and 4 games behind second place Cleveland with 28 games left. The West division is also lousy and still we would be tied for third place. Mediocre is not enough. Could calling up Walker and having him instead of slumping Larnach have helped this year? We worry about the 40 man roster on a team that is struggling like this? We didn't trade Ryan, but Ryan has a second half record that gives us no confidence. My point is that it has been an enjoyable season - watching them sweep the Braves before being taught a lesson by Phillies and A's. But I would really like to see a team that has a winning record and actually belongs in the playoffs next year. My grade for the team for this year is C-. My grade for the front office is D, For the manager B.

    Interesting article and comments. I have not been impressed with Adams in minors where he has a 4.91 ERA over six years or the majors 6.54 over two years. I also think Morris is worn down. The team needs some refreshing and the fact that it seems to be waiting for September to make changes is ridiculous if they really wanted to push for the playoffs. They can't even win a series against the A's!

    Buxton going down again, Larnach in a prolonged slump, Roden mediocre, Kreidler offering little, Jackson offering nothing. I think the Twins need a lot of help and watching Clark now with Detroit I am even more perplexed with the way the team ignores Walker Jenkins. I would call up both Ross and Gonzales as well. A team that can't stay up to 500 has a lot of parts that can be exchanged. Raya has always been overrated for me and I do not seem him being a good addition.

    I do not have faith in Gallagher, but we continue to need pitchers so we can hope. What I would love to have TD present to us is a position depth - current MLB roster and prospects - for each position.

    Great to win, but thanks to the A's for giving us a breather with a batting practice pitcher (the lowest era of the four pitchers that they used was 6.08. Plus a nice minor league lineup. We should win again today - thanks to Zebby for giving us a great seven. Culpepper is doing so great it makes me wish that we called up another prospect.

    Luis Arraez was all hit and no field according to all the analytics and now he is gold glove. I would happily have a number of players from you table play on my team, Luke will continue to both improve and hit. We need him.

    In a push for the playoffs the patience with Larnach and refusal to call up Walker makes no sense.

    Lowlight - Hoffman. I had hoped for so much more, but he lost Toronto faith - probably in the WS and did not regain it. If we consider the various moves - Hoffman/Varland - we lost. And we are not at a point where the revamped BP can carry us through with a depleted and exhausted combination of SP>
