The Pohlad story from contraction to cut payrolls has been a series of missteps from a family that is supposed to be business wise. You could fool me. This is a deaf ownership and they have made one error after another in public relations. Sure we could lose the Twins, but unfortunately when it happens the population as a whole might say who cares and there is not much us devoted fans can do about it.

When looking at the stats this is not an overwhelming list - only the top two really look like they are ascending. How does Abel rise from AAAA?

White Sox 12, Twins 3: Woof.
mikelink45 replied to Steven Trefz's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Why not? Most of the time we don't keep them their whole service time anyway or we sign them early to an extension. Service time is the last thing I'm concerned about- 94 replies

Have we seen enough? Haven't we got a minor league catcher that can do as well as Hatch. Don't we have a minor league OF that can do as well as Outman. Don't we have any minor league pitchers that can do as well as Hatch? Can't the ball boy do as well as Davis? Does the FO actually watch the games? Why isn't Rocco holding a protest outside the FO doors? Oh well, at least we make the Chisox happy - 5 in a row. Who is the worst team in the AL????- 94 replies

I am really disappointed in Ober. I would shut him down and start over next year. I guess we only play well against good competition. Losing 4 straight to Chisox really stinks. I hope we are not thinking Topa will be a stud for the 2026 BP. The article says pinch runners paid off, somehow PR are the least of my hopes for quality BB. Outman and Keirsey should not be on the roster - neither should Clemens or Gaspar. Call up some real prospects. On the pitching side there is a long list that does not belong. Come on Twins - sell some hope, sell the future!

Based on the Twins promotions and actions I do not think Morris is highly regarded by the team as he is by this site. Kalai is a fun story, I do not see him making it as a Twin when I look at the roster and the prospects. The catcher is the one that is exciting and we need a catcher really badly.

Week in Review: Searching for Silver Linings
mikelink45 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
This is the time for auditions - Fedko, Culpepper - anyone who is at all interesting. No more DFA players, no more players we are going to let go. Try one of our minor league catchers. I don't even care if Lopez pitches this year for the Twins. Does it matter if we have 90 losses instead of 89?- 9 replies

Does anyone believe in Tonkin or anyone in the BP? Nice game Ryan - we need you. With the draft ahead it is hard to know whether to root for a win or a loss. I would keep Wallner in the bottom half of the lineup.

I think you can replace SWR with Matthews in you rotation statement. I think they have more hope with Zebby. Not sure, but I try to see how they handle them and Zebby has passed both Festa and SWR as far as I can see. Ober seems in danger of dropping and Lopez and Ryan could be traded so let's see what next years rotation can be.

Blue Jays 9, Twins 8: Welcome to Thunderdome
mikelink45 replied to Eric Blonigen's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Amazing I had been worried about the bullpen. Still am, but are starting pitching has been horrendous. What has been our ERA for starting pitchers over the last week? -
Your essay is too correct. It's just really hard to see where we're going and everybody in baseball looks to the prospects to be the next great heroes. But you outlined and your essay how we have failed with previous wonderful prospects. What makes us believe that this next group will get here prosper and develop to what we hope they can be? Perhaps the most puzzling thing to me is how the owners can be so deaf to the fans and their responses I really think it's not just a low point in twins on the field. I think it's going to be really hard the fans back into target field.

I agree. So the question is does wallner Lock up when there are runners on base or is it just a case that we don't have runners on base very often?

So far he is great - Lewis was the first 100 ABs too and Julien looked like he would be good and so did Miranda. If Luke continues I will be delighted - is one enough?

I have no idea how to judge coaches - is it one coach, is it systemic to the entire coaching staff from beginning to end, is there one person in management who is the problem? Why blame Rocco and not the bench coach, the quality control coach, of the person acquiring the talent? I don't know where to begin. I remember our anguish over losing Rowson - now he is with the Yankees. He has Judge, Stanton, Rice, Bellinger. We have Buxton, Wallner, Larnach, Clemens....
