  1. I think we can see that our young ones are better. If we did not have the stable of young arms that we possess I would have to offer a different solution.
  2. I am delighted with Celestino and have liked him since his premature call up, but I am not excited about Pagan as our closer. I know - on another site I was told we do not have a designated closer, but when do we bring in Pagan? So far Pagan has the most saves on the team and he has the most games finished. I am never comfortable with RP stats and this is one of those ocassions. I loved the victory, But as I look at the teams we have beaten - The A's are nothing to brag about - the statistics that the broadcasters shared are horrible and they are 10 - 18. True we beat the Rays in a series and they are 18 - 10, but then we have beaten Detroit 8 - 19, Split with Baltimore 10 - 17, lost to KC 9 - `15, beat Boston which felt good but they are 10 - 19, split with the Mariners 12 - 16 and were destroyed by the Dodgers 18 - 7. and beat the White Sox who so far are 14 - 13 and just coming on. Our opponents have a a record of 109 - 134 (045) (without the Dodgers 91 - 127 .042). Let's hope our injuries do not set us back. Although after the Astros the rest of May is A's, Tigers, Guardians, and Royals. Nice schedule.
  3. Keep pitching Ryan and assume he is one of our own. Keep young arms moving in and out and getting experience but ride the ones that are succeeding.
  4. I like the tight games and pitching duels - just make the game shorter - a tight game switching to boring is not good.
  5. We have to disagree here. Just like last year with happ and shoemaker. And colome and others they see something and want it to come true. It's a natural thing to do but it can also be destructive. I guess my question is you would be how many have pagans relief rolls been in none high profile innings
  6. This is old-fashioned baseball two to one. Great pitching with the exception of Pagan who will continue to get saved chances because the front office acquired him and they like to have success from their new acquisitions. I know it said we don't have a true closer, but Pagan has three saves. They do use him in the 9th when they have him available. I love the young guys and with a bring to the team I'm not even sure where Kiriloff plays in this lineup. Which is a nice problem. It is my hope that Louis shine so well that he doesn't get sent back down. And winder has no earned the right to continue to start. Great game which gives me wonderful enthusiasm for this team
  7. I have no patience for reclamation vets, when we have such great pitching prospects. Winder has now established that he belongs in the rotation. And I am happy to have all of the low budget veterans struggle for the fifth spot on the rotation. But can the front office and management admit that our own players are better and cut their losses
  8. Once again the danger of the big contract. I am not against the signing, but realize how tough it is to count on anyone.
  9. The biggest question - who is back up? I do not see Sanchez staying, I do not see Godoy long term. Where is the next glove?
  10. This is exciting. I imagine an infield of Kiriloff, Polanco, Lewis, Miranda and an OF of Larnach, Buxton, Kepler, Celestino. I like it. Sorry old vets, this is the wave of the future coming in quickly. Now keep Jeffers hitting and find another back up.
  11. If you go for the super premium $100 a month option. You get Tim laudner autograph and a sticker to put on your window that says Sinclair really got me this time.
  12. After all the optimism, it is up to the Twins to right the ship in a hurry. This was a bad game and I know we are going to lose games, but these are the Orioles and they are the teams that we need to beat up on.
  13. No, because I have not understood the hype. I am a prove it first fan and he has not earned the ratings and the press he has gotten. I sincerely hope he succeeds, but like Wander Javier, Cavaco, and other I am not impressed until I see results.
  14. I will not send a dollar to Sinclair. Their ethics leave me listening to the radio.
  15. Where is Buxton I like seeing celestino gets a playing time in as bad as come around but nobody matches Buxton and I can't believe it's time to give him a rest
  16. In another post I commented that it was to early to anoint this staff tonight was proof.
  17. Tonight demonstrated why I am not willing to buy into the "this rotation is better than we thought" postings. Let's see them show it for another 6 weeks. You can judge batters much quicker than pitchers.
  18. C J Cron - oh, wait, we did not want him. Oh well - Arraez and Miranda are fine. We do not need another strikeout specialist.
  19. As the old guy that questions a lot of quick judgments, I need to get to at least June before giving the rotation a grade.
  20. What strikes me is how weak the AAA rotation is compared to the arms at other levels. Immediate help for the Twins - is Smeltzer and calling back Sands.
  21. I always expect a pitcher - Cano? Nothing changes as much as the rotation and bullpen.
  22. I like the choice. He didn't choose where they put him, instead he has taken the challenge that was in front of him and made the most of it
  23. No I'm excited. So glad to see winder in the rotation and I hope he stays there
