  1. His recent hitting to get from 192 to 211 pushed him up. Sanchez is just what we expected, but I thought his power would have him above Jeffers. Godoy is filler - nothing more.
  2. Thanks for this look at the positions. So catcher is basically League average when we combine Sanchez and Jeffers. What would it be if we just had Jeffers and not Sanchez?
  3. With Catchers hitting such a miserable rate all over they are becoming the pitchers in the lineup - soon we will have two DHs and one will be for catcher.
  4. I think Jeffers is set - we have to live with what he brings, but he should be able to bring up his hitting statistics. I do not know what is wrong, but it seems like he has had a better approach the last two weeks. Sanchez is set to be a FA - do we resign him? If not do we rely on Jeffers and Godoy? That is when it gets really bad.
  5. I need more from DH. He basically weakens two positions - DH and C. But what happens when he is a FA?
  6. Just a baseball game - this one had nothing special to comment on except for the fact that we are lucky and not famous the Brewer Aces. We struggle with the good teams and that is what the FO needs to recognize. Winder has enough good games that he is allowed to have one mediocre one.
  7. Nice review of his hitting. Your statistics confirm what we think we see
  8. It's time for a win streak. Winning one of three in this awkward manner is not that exciting. Being in first place is, but I want more
  9. Thank you for the realism you bring to your reports
  10. Thank you. He is the selection I question the most. His 214/340/386 line is pretty weak - I hope it is injury related, but last years 189/365/386 line makes me think he just does not have it like Wallner does.
  11. Nicely done - I really liked your review of the players traded and how they turned out. While we have really not had a good RP trade record in the last few years - we certainly have moved some potential pieces away from the Twins - Rogers with 23 saves and a whip under 1! Sorry I hated that trade on day one. Brusdar Graterol - 3 saves, 1.17 WHIP 0.3 WAR. Ryan Pressly - 18 saves, 1.083 whip - who reminds me of the Taylor Rogers trade. Liam Hendriks does not count - I understand why they did not keep him, but I wish they had. And there is Tyler Wells - 1.8 WAR 7 - 4 3.28 era. Berrios has been a disappointment this year, but I would still take him. How about a rotation with him, Wells, Gibson, Hill, Odorizzi? Not all world, but is it better than what we have? Sometimes it is just about getting more from what you have and I want to see Price as long relief, I want to see more of the young arms in the BP - Cole Sands, Schulfer... forget the normal progression - get them up and give them some RP innings.
  12. As a Twin fan I am very much in favor of Arraez being an all-star, but his versatility creates a problem. Some still see him as a 2B vs Altuve, others a 1B versus Guerrero and other sluggers. He did not have a valid chance and that is okay. We all love Buxton, but we are Twins fans. His BA, his streakiness, and his rest days and DH days reduce his viability as an all-star. I did not vote for him. I am not a fan of Stanton either, but he is having a good year for the run away Yankees. I would take Tucker from the Astros.
  13. Good observation - in a league and time when everyone is desperate for RP our DFA squad says a lot about their value.
  14. Has anyone seen Aaron Sabata lately, I understand we once chose him in the first round? I am looking for a lot of movement in the Twins system and am glad Steer and Wallner are getting recognition.
  15. 12 runs in two games against 39 - 43 Texas and we lost both! What is the analysis - they scored 15. What is next? When is that summer win streak supposed to start? And why was Luis not starting. He comes in for one AB and gets one hit!
  16. I just got in to Ketchikan and finally found wifi - I was hoping for better news that this. I love being in first place, but we have not shown the killer instinct against bad teams and I am not seeing us in competition with the Yankees, Dodgers, Astros, Rays, Jays, or Red Sox when the season ends. Please FO do something to change this perspective. I loved seeing Byron back in the field, but twice worried he was injured again and his bat is still HR or nothing. Gordon and Arraez continue to do what we need from them. Jeffers is over .200!!! But SP has now joined RP as a big concern.
  17. Someone has to drive in the runs and our stats for RISP say that the men who get a hit when it counts are extremely important.
  18. “Durability trumps ability,” Bud Grant. Buxton is most valuable when he is in CF. So far he has been in the field 42 games out of 85 - just under half. He has 22 HRs, he is batting 216 and has only a 291 OPS - is that an offensive star? I love Buxton when he gives us the entire package, but with his speed and ability did we really expect this level of play? Glamour weeks and dreadful weeks. I did expect more on the bases too. Expectations are sky high, but he has not come close to meeting them for more than half the games and if they can baby him to 100 games this year he will be far short of 100 defensive games. 8 years 511 games started - an average of 63.
  19. Just keep winning. It is not the team chasing us that matters - it is us taking care of business and building a team strategy that will work in the post season.
  20. It doesn't. He is the pitcher we use when we want to save the arm of the position player who might be asked to cover an inning.
  21. I had the Braves - you have the Brewers. The teams we connect with when we are young stay with us our entire life. Have a wonderful trip.
  22. As much as I hate to do it - Yankees - Mantle, Maris, Berra, Ford or stretching it out - Gehrig, Ruth, Hoyt, Lazzeri, Coombs, Pennock
  23. Time to call Uber Eats and order new BP pitchers - forget the salad.
