  1. In my mind the Twins had to sign Buxton to that extension. No matter what the next years bring I applaud the Twins for doing that contract and I am grateful for that contract. He is the quiet leader of this team and the face of the Minnesota Twins.
  2. Could they put Larnach on DL to give his turf toe time to heal completely?
  3. Agree it is all command. Velocity will increase with warmer temperatures. He has to work on command. Pitch yesterday was in a sweet spot for a left handed batter.
  4. Forget bashing Sands. Instead focus on Rocco and his decision to continually go to Okert. Let us guess what pitch is coming. Slider, slider and how about a slider in the middle of the plate. How many MLB hitters can figure that out. Inherited runners scoring at an 80% clip. Someone tell me why he is on the major league roster other than the fact we traded for him so therefore he must stay on major league roster according to our front office.
  5. Once again the Twins decision makers are afraid to put together their best bullpen. The are afraid to cut bait with their off season acquistions and instead will try to hide Jackson and Okert in low leverage situations. The more close games we play the more we will use our 5 high leverage guys wearing them down. Nobody can tell me Alcala is not head and shoulders above the above mentioned 2 pitchers especially when he pitches just 1 inning. Shame on the Twins if they are punishing Alcala. Just put the best team on the field.
  6. What made the Margot pinch hit even worse was the fact that he pinch hit for the DH. So Margot was our DH for 2 more appearances against RH pitching. Yikes!
  7. Payroll had to go down this year because it is going to increase by at least 20-25 million next year. Good business plans always are somewhat proactive when it comes to costs.
  8. Yes to having too many bullpen arms. When is the last time this was even a topic for conversation? No to Syndergaard!!
  9. Every year a few guys figure it out and become productive major leaguers. See Brent Rooker. That is the difference between AAAA and major league hitters. I am rooting for the guy and won't give up on him until the Twins do. Did i read that he has 1 option remaining?
  10. I am sure teams are low balling the Twins with their offers. Waiting is the smart thing to do. Teams that have offensive needs might be more inclined to deal as we get closer to spring training. With his history the last 2 years let him and Buxton share the DH duties. If that is the case Buxton will get most of those AB's but Polanco can take a turn at 2b and 3b once a week also. I understand his defense has declined but once a week at a position will not hurt the team. Depth is important and especially the way Rocco manages Polanco will get plenty of AB's and be productive. As we saw last year it takes a lot more than 26 players to successfully survive an MLB season.
  11. 2 years older than when he last played any significant time in CF. His offensive numbers will suffer. It will cost him money in free agency to play CF.
  12. What about signing Rhys Hoskins? What would that cost? Add a RH power bat?
  13. Does Gordon have any options left?
  14. Can Martin handle CF defensively? How does he compare to Bader or Taylor? If he is anywhere close he gets my vote for a shot at CF.
  15. Can we afford Rhys Hoskins? Good RH bat can play 1B.
  16. We need to add a big bat for the 3 or 4 spot in our order. Look at lineups left in the playoffs. A big right handed bat who can play 1B would be ideal. Fill in the roster after that. You can never have enough depth...see 2023. MLB is 2 seasons with the regular season used to make the playoffs. Once you make the playoffs your roster can be adjusted. The really good teams have the big boppers but also quality at bottom of order.
  17. Willing to live with strikeouts. The number of strikeouts looking has to fixed especially with runners in scoring position and less than 2 outs.
  18. What a wonderful and enjoyable season. Future is bright plenty of players in pipeline. Can't wait to see front office moves.
  19. With Correa and P. Lopez leading this team by example I feel this team will reel off deep playoff runs for the next 4 years. Who knows maybe even a World Champion's parade!
  20. What are Ryan's and Ober's stats against Houston this year? Career?
  21. To heck with breaking the streak let's win that first series and move on!
  22. Symbolic of this year's team. No flashy numbers but a lot of good solid numbers.
  23. Today's starter would look good in our bullpen!
