  1. Put him in the lineup everyday next to Culpepper and Jenkins. Hopefully they will provide a glimpse of next year"s Twins lineup.
  2. After this weekend E Rod should be with the Twins with regular at bats for the last 2 weeks of season.
  3. There is no quit in this team. Who gets credit for that?
  4. Hopefully Jenkins, Rodriguez and Gonzalez follow in Culpepper footsteps.
  5. FO gets high marks for their effort and results at the deadline. Added to the team in the areas that most needed help without giving up much. Plus 2 players are controllable. Not every team that adds at the deadline gets the results they are looking for.
  6. Great article. What fun it is to turn on TV at night and watch Twins baseball because we are starting to see a marketable product on the field. Also what fun is it to check the MLB standings and probable pitchers for the night because the games mean something. We may lay an egg these next weeks and drop out of playoff hunt but it has been a fun season and hopefully the start of many more.
  7. What a difference 4 months have made and the bullpen we left Fort Myers with. Congrats to the front office and Derek Shelton and his staff. The pen has truly come a long ways!
  8. Brewers just grind out at bats Twins are improving in this area. As I have said before if the Twins can mirror Brewer baseball operations we will have a baseball team worthy of support. This year we have taken a small step. Hoping Tom is a man of his word and next year we continue to take another step or maybe 2.
  9. He doesn't need to be great. Just good so he can lengthen our lineup. I see him at 2B and Houston at SS in the very near future.
  10. Great news! Congrats to the kid! Hopefully he can add to the Twins hitting philosophy that returned last. Taking pitches that are not strikes and running up the pitch count. When they do that the team is usually successful. Very excited to see our new short stop play.
  11. If Soler is healthy and passes through waivers he is worth a look,
  12. Refreshing is the word I use to describe the deadline. Nice to see ownership make a statement and then back it up. We may not make the playoffs but we gave up little to give us a better shot. Morale in the clubhouse should be sky high as there were no subtractions of any significance there. Here is to 2 months of exciting and meaningful baseball for the Twins.
  13. With Buxton out we need Jeffers bat in the lineup or else we risk a drop in run scoring. Unless the Twins are wowed with an offer of an MLB bat they need to keep him for this year.
  14. Options. The more the better. It is just like the versatility with the hitters. Now you can piggyback Rojas after Ober or Kremer after 4 or 5 innings and the opposing hitters do not get multiple looks against the same pitcher.
  15. Robbie Ray would look real good in a Twin"s uniform and keeping him out of a White Sox uniform would make it even sweeter.
  16. I feel they have a better than 30% chance of winning their division - no wild card needed. If they can add some pitching without losing any of the top prospects I think that would be great. Chemistry is important and that is evident that the present club has that going. Make a few additions that cost middle of the road prospects and see what happens.
  17. Buxton left the game tonight. Jeffers bat is needed more than ever now. There will be a team salary base bottom next year. Keep Jeffers unless someone makes you an offer you can't refuse and offer the QO for next year. It is an overpay but only for 1 year and you will get the draft pick. Besides trading him to a team you could face in the playoffs doesn't sit well with me either.
  18. Follow the Brewer's blueprint. Players with more than 1 season of control get traded in the offseason. Free agents get traded at the deadline no emotions involved.
  19. With so few sellers at the deadline the competition may be fierce for guys that are available. At least this way we can see what we have in Nance and Go before the deadline. Hoping tom Pohlad is pushing Zoll to look at all possibilities to improve that bullpen.
  20. Giving out multi year contracts to 30 year old starting pitchers is risky business. Great article...it made up my mind. Some team would have to really offer MLB talent or MLB ready talent at the deadline for the Twins to trade Joe. Twins should trade Joe but in the off season.
  21. Good trade. By that I mean it was a good trade for both teams. Jax gets a chance to pitch in the playoffs and be a starting pitcher. Twins get a #2 starting pitcher controllable for 3 more years.
  22. A lot of games are won and lost in innings 7-9. Morris, Rojas and Gomez at least gives us a chance. We are still trying to win. Paredes has done a serviceable job as a #5 starter. Leave him there and put Rojas in the pen. Next year the circumstances will be entirely different more than likely... maybe he gets his chance to start then.
