  1. We need that fire on the Big club.
  2. I'd say either Paddock or the three-letter guy. I don't trust either one to finish out the year. And you could stash either one in AAA.
  3. I'd like to see us add another starter. He doesn't have to be front line. If we can get a middle of the pack starter we should at least get into the playoffs.
  4. I'm excited for Sabato too. We just gave up on another recent first rounder. It's good to see Sabato making some noise.
  5. Today the Saints had six hits in total. Wallner had four of them, including a home run. Ah, it looks like he doesn't want to wait the couple-of-weeks group consensus.
  6. Wallner's starting to hit, and Helman is looking good, and so is Severino. We've got a lot of power bats and high average bats in tripple A.
  7. Yeah, 3 weeks ago they were overwhelming favorites to miss the playoffs. It's mid May. Give it a few months. We'll talk playoffs come July.
  8. I'd like to see Miranda getting some reps at 1st base. That could be his home next year.
  9. And now we've got Wallner coming alive in St. Paul, and Lewis chomping at the bit to start his rehab playing. And we've got a very good center fielder in AAA waiting for an opportunity. Offensively and defensively, things are really looking up. We're still thin at starting pitching, but Zebby and Morris are rising. So, let's enjoy these halcyon days in May. Go Twins!
  10. Yeah, it's good now; but the starting pitching is extremely thin and vulnerable. to injury. Woods Richardson is an untested rookie. Paddack is coming off surgery, and hasn't pitched a full season, since maybe forever. There's no backup. Who'd come up if one of our starters get hurt? Varland? Festa?
  11. I don't see much of a pipeline of starting pitchers coming through the minor leagues. We got Varland who's starting to pitch a little better, but beyond him, who is there? Festa? He hasn't done much this year. Who else? Raya? He hasn't done much either. Everyone else is hurt, Cantarino, for the umteenth time, the knuckleballer, Lewis. He just went on the 60 day IL. I guess Zebby's pitching pretty good. This doesn't seem like much of a pipeline to boast about. It's not exactly flowing.
  12. Wallner's looking good. If he keeps this up for another week or two, I hope the Twins find a way to bring him back up. He's finding his groove now; I hope they don't wait too long. Varland is also pitching better, but I'd be in no hurry to rush him back up. I think Wallner's a different case: the sooner the better.
  13. If we bring up Wallner--he bats left--who does he replace? Margot is a right handed batter.
  14. I also didn't like Jeffers swinging for the fences and connecting against Hicks when the score was 14 to 4 in the 9th inning. It's not good to show up an opponent like that. It has a way of coming back at us.
  15. Remember that time he was out for a couple of days with back pain, and then he slipped in the shower and fell on his back and miraculously knocked whatever was ailing him back into place and was then good to go the next day? Check this one out, Hatcher crawling home:
  16. I'm still hoping for an end of the rotation veteran starting pitcher to be added before we break camp. I'd like to see Varland start the year in AAA. Then we can call him up when one of our 5 horses breaks a leg.
