  1. Another kind of blah game, but a win is a win. I didn't think we'd end up on top, but I'll take any gift at this point.
  2. Alias..."The Doof".
  3. I'd give that a shot.
  4. This game has all the earmarks of our pen coming in to somehow blow a nice start by Ryan. I sure hope I'm wrong.
  5. There's no doubt that Morneau really knows the game. He's got a chance to be a very good analyst with more experience. However, he's got a tendency not to know when to stop talking. He goes on and on and on, when he should just make his point and stop. He also has a very monotone voice, which is annoying at times. He needs to be more animated in his speaking style. He doesn't have to be Bert, but he needs to liven it up a little bit.
  6. I grew up a Mets fan in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area, and we had Lindsey Nelson, Ralph Kiner, and Bob Murphy for many years there. All three were very good in their day. Even the Yankees announcers were pretty good, even though I hated the team. They had Frank Messer, Phil Rizzuto, and Bill White. I moved here in 83...the same year Dick Bremer started, and have enjoyed him as the broadcast voice/face of the team ever since then. He's knowledgeable, easy to listen to, and "one of us" (even though I'm really not). I've been a die hard Twins fanatic since I moved here and I hope Bremer is around for quite a while yet. He deserves to go out on his terms.
  7. That will help.
  8. Just saw that Buck is the DH today.
  9. Maybe it's just my imagination, but the overall hitting and approach was better when Rowson was here. It kind of seems to me that we got significantly worse at the plate after he left. I think he was a solid influence on the team overall too. Just my two cents. I wouldn't have minded at all if he was the manager, and not Baldelli. One other thing...how does everyone feel about the constant batting order and line up changes. I don't care for it at all. I'd like to see a relatively set batting order, kind of day in day out for the most part. Obviously, you can't do that over the course of a season, but I think you catch my drift. I'm old school that way.
  10. Definitely not too early to panic. This relegates him to mop up duty. Can't trust the guy right now for more than that. Another winnable game down the tubes.
  11. Wasted a nice start by Ober because we can't hit our way out of a piece of tissue paper, and then the stellar pen comes in and throws gas all over the friggin place. DAMN...this is depressing.
  12. I like Garlic(k), but not with the bases juiced and two out.
  13. Bremer just said we have a .187 team BA. DOH! Sano isn't only below the Mendoza line...he's below Mendoza's dead and buried grandma's line.
  14. We just did a spiral ham a couple weeks ago, so today we're going take out Asian cuisine from Bambu in Oakdale. Happy Easter to everyone out there in Twinkie-Land. Hope they win today!
  15. Correa needs to get it going a little bit. He's as cold as ice right now.
  16. If this keeps up, I may have to switch to the stooges on MeTV at 5pm.
  17. Tough spot for Winder. Hope he's up to it. I guess we'll see.
  18. Uh oh...Gray might have tweaked a hammy.
  19. Is that what the yellow uni's are for? I missed the explanation for them, and was wondering what the heck was going on. I fully support that cause, but those uni's are pretty bad. Didn't the Bad News Bears have yellow and white colors?
  20. Yep...the Baldelli-Lama is saying no IL for now. Maybe this will be just a few games off kind of thing. Hopefully, we dodged a bullet this time.
  21. Just saw the Rosenthal update too. Supposedly no structural damage and some time off. If that's correct...WHEW!
  22. Hopefully, Doogs is right. It would suck tremendously if Buck is gone for an extended period of time again.
  23. I don't know what the heck Garlick was doing on that HR to right. Unless the wind blew it back somehow, which I doubt. He had a good chance to catch it, but he over ran it by a big margin. It ended up a good 6 ft behind him. It looked like it barely made it over the fence. Definitely looked catchable to me.
  24. Somewhere there's a squirrely little guy with a voodoo doll of Buck, and he keeps sticking pins in it. It's off the charts incredible how he just keeps getting dinged up in one way or another. Please...PLEASE don't be an ACL. Keep thinking good thoughts!
  25. He got one of those cookies! Sano just put one over the green monster for a 2 run jack!
