  1. I'd like to see Max stay and hit without the shift. He could be traded mid-season if things are not working out for Max and/or the team. You may find a pennant contender with an injury that could bring a useful piece.
  2. Each team just got $30M for the Bamtech sale so that unexpected windfall seems to be burning a whole in the old pockets.
  3. Remember they traded Joe Musgrove to get Endy Rodriguez so not just any SP'er is going to be enough.
  4. It would be nice to have a more traditional first baseman over Arraez. I think the line-up needs a power bat from that position and Abreu could bridge the gap to AK getting healthy. I'm not certain the Twins can compete with the Padres and others in need of his services and the fact that the 1B need is not high on the Twins list.
  5. Stone Garrett was DFA'd by Arizona and he is a strong right handed hitting left fielder and only 26. He had 32 homers last year between AAA and Majors and over 60 extra base hits. May be a good waiver wire target. Also some pitching depth available in Ryan Yarbrough and Jarlin Garcia.
  6. I'm in the Haniger camp as he fills the lefty mashing need and covers some ground in the outfield.
  7. I'm not giving an MVP award to someone walking out the door. The clubhouse gets little benefit from that to build on. Let someone have the award that sticks around and the young players can emulate.
  8. Why does Popkins seem to get a pass on this website? I'm struggling to find any success stories from the bats this year. I also can't find any interviews with regards to Popkins shining any light on the situation or his philosophy. Someone needs to light a fire in the clubhouse and that fire could start with coaching or players but we need a leader to step forward soon.
  9. Elias Diaz from Colorado might be someone you could get cheap as he is not living up to a new 3 yr deal. Although the AAV is not so huge the Twins couldn't take it on.
  10. I cannot think of a TOS surgery success story. Can you name someone that came out of it the same or better?
  11. I am not liking the move and I don't think Archer deserved more than a minor league deal at this point. I really think we should have given Winder the ball and seen what these young arms could do with a good defense behind them. When you have this many hurlers on the cusp you don't want to create a logjam in the minors and not really know how these guys will compete on the big stage. I think we could have gotten the young guys some exposure now and could find an Archer type if someone flames out.
  12. I'm not ready to start building a statue quite yet.
  13. I see some complaints on Sanchez & Sano striking out alot.....take a look at Story. He has led the league in that category. I just hate seeing a third of the line-up pacing between the dugout and home all day. Don't get me wrong on Story he's much better than anything we've trotted out to the 6 hole in many many years. But it could be a very streaky team waiting on the longball.
  14. Just what you want with young pitching is terrible catching. I hope Jeffers can catch 150 games.
  15. I think the issue needs to be solved through trades. We need to bundle some arms and gloves for proven inning eaters. Of course you'll need to work free agency as well as you need to find 130 GS.
  16. Gardenhire used to have line-ups with 2Bs all over the diamond and I hated that. You can win games but I don't think you hoist a trophy doing it. That being said I don't want Arraez at third or a corner outfield on a regular basis. Since Polanco is safer to have at second and tied up with his contract, I'm thinking Arraez needs to be traded.
  17. Hopefully he has enough pop to man a corner outfield spot.
  18. I'd be excited if the Twins drafted Rocker. Being a Boras client, he'd be hard to hold on to once he reaches Free Agency. BUt the ride till that happens would be fun!
  19. I hope he's the next Craig Kusick?
  20. Not a strong list especially considering where the Twins draft. Miranda had a breakout but the rest have alot of question marks in my opinion. It seems like other organizations graduate their top draft picks and reload where the Twins seem to flounder. Cavaco, Lewis, Javier, Sabato and Rooker (DH at best) are all disapointing signings thus far, At least Gordon is finally showing some value. We have to start hitting with more regularity with top picks and international signings and moving them steadily through the system.
  21. An interesting free agent is Aaron Altherr who is looking to return from the KBO where he had 2 fine seasons. Altherr is a good center fielder and always had the tools but never put it altogether. It looks like he may have done that in the KBO and may be a good insurance policy to Buxton and a possible trade chip if he blossoms.
  22. Strange place to start the trip down memory lane
  23. Remember Steve Carlton's Twin career....that's where I'm at with Bundy
  24. Why do we have threads about the TOP candidates when the Twins live at the bottom.
  25. The situation is rediculous can the Twins really trade Buxton and get a better return. If they do get a great return will they ever pay that person. I'm feeling a bit disgruntled as a Twin fan lately and I'm not sure I want to be on this develop but don't pay merry go round. Please sign Buck!
