    I agree with moving the mound back.move it to 62 feet 6inches. It will help the hitters a bit. And give the pitch a fraction of a second more to react to a hit ball. It doesn't seem like much but it would help the game.

    That's good put Rocco in c.f. make Buxton manager.. let's face it he would fall down the steps or get hit by a ball. Or maybe a meteor would hit him like one scientist predicted. Anyway you look at it. If he gets hurt he gets hurt. Keep him in the field and have a few highlights.

    Brandon27 is right. I said as soon as Cron was a free agent get him back. Sano is the worst fielding first baseman. He played a big part in us loosing to Boston with his error. I know we will be looking at pitchers but a first baseman makes sense

    All of us knew ahead of time everything you were going to say about sano. It's the same every year. But next year he gets 14 million. We can not wait the money. So here's my idea. Wait and see if a contending nation league team needs a dh. Find someone who will trade us a defensive 1 st baseman. Sano led the team with 15 errors last year. Maybe that improves the team.

    We have no proven closer. But Rodgers wasn't approved closer. Plus he seems to get hurt. I like the competition we have . After the first two games pitching seems ok. Our hitters better get going.

    Heiny has a great take on this. We need inning eaters. Name me one season in the last 25 years were we didn't use at least 7 or 8 starters. We are not sure about Archer and bundy's return to form . And no one can tell about the young arms. I liked Rodgers too. But the padres have 7 possible starts. And now they improve their bullpen.

    Maybe I've been asleep but what happened to Austin martin? If he's with the twins he should be on this list.

    I'm not worried about there minor league talent. Only 4 to 6 players will be brought up next year. They are due to pick very high in the next draft. And they already are looking at three very good international players in that draft. The only way they loose some players is thru trades for good veteran players. I settle for that.

    It's going to take a sacrifice to even get one of the Oakland pitchers. Oakland isn't in the running for a title. So other teams will try to put bid the twins on at least one of the pitchers. No team in the American league wants the twins to have both. That's almost like giving them the title.

    I agree with heiny. Almost everybody on this site has all said we need to get out from under Donaldson's contract . Now that we have it's a fire sale. I think it's a good thing that we have spent about 100 mill. It leaves us enough to add one of the Oakland pitchers in a trade. Maybe paneda too. We still could get story. And find another catcher for depth.

    You just got polanko to all-star level. Don't change what is working. If you have try the young guys at shortstop so be it. Also you still look to trade Donaldson. If nl does dh. See if giants would use him. There third basemen will be like 37 this year. Could they rotate the two of them between 3rd and dh. Maybe we get a reliever out of the deal. Probably not any kind of starter but who knows

    I agree with getting him back. I didn't want to see him go. 8 million is not that bad . That's probably what we would give penada.the two would be 16 million. Leaving us at least that much more to spend on one or two players. It doesn't hurt our young pitchers. We only have 3 starters at this point. How many years has this team went were we don't have starter or 2 injured? I also would like to see rodon in a twins uniform.

    There are other options. The twins should not go back to those two players. They will both be problems on defense. The twins should look for a trade. There are some possible s.s. available. When you have a winner at one position like polanko. Don't change what's working.

    One more point. They say garver would have value as a dh. In two years who will we have as dh. Sano? Donaldson? They will both be gone. And we pay our backup catchers next to nothing. So add up the totals. Sano due for 14 million, Donaldson due 21 million. That obligation being gone then you can pay garver 10 plus million a year. Baseball in my mind is like anything else just crunch the number and becomes easier to figure out what to do. You still may not get your dream team. But that's life.

    Name me any catcher in the majors with as good of stats for what he is paid. Would we do like we did with the pitching and get a bunch of hapless players. Sorry for the play on words. But we need to spend the money trading up for quality not quantity. And who would we get to catch?

    Topgunn has the right idea. Use your minor league players before you end up finally using in the majors after 5 or 6 years. I like his trade it gets us s.s. better than the one we had. And a starter. And we don't pay a minor league player 8 to 10 mill.a year.

    When I said sano could hit better if he did what he did in the second half of the season. I don't think he will ever be a Cruz. But if he would hit .240 to .250 range he would then be trade bait. The best thing that could happen is the dh in the other league. I'm like everyone else. I would like him gone. His contract calls for 14 million next year. That's one good pitcher.

    Sano's biggest problem was he was trying too hard to get on top of the pitch. He was swinging too hard. After the all-star break, they changed how he would swing at the ball. They made him let the ball get over the plate further. He has fast enough hands. This let him see the ball longer. So if he continues on this way the hitting could be much better. The problem is he had I think 14 errors at 1st. He led the league. I believe 6 we're throwing errors. We have to move him to dh. But that means we will have to do something with Donaldson.

    He finished the stronger than he started. I think he will figure it out. It's funny how many players have one of there better years going into free agency years.

    One note of interest, we have 13 pitchers in the minors who are suppose to be in the majors by 2022 or 2023 at the latest. Pitch them in the majors or trade some of them . But don't wait forever.

    Great plan. But bring in Rizzo instead of Bryant. Unless you can trade Donaldson. If not put sano at dh. Rizzo at first .story or Correa at s.s. That would leave enough cash to bring back penada. And maybe we could spend 3 million on a pitcher like Robles. That would be about 145 million spent. We could still be able to trade someone before the season would be over. Do me one favor add up hrs. Obp. And avg. Of all these players . Then you will see why this would work.

    Who and where can trade players depends upon what the national league does with dh. If they have it where are all these teams going to find a dh. Will one of the leading teams in that league pick up on Donaldson. If offers a 2 way option. As for others, name me a cheaper option at catcher that hits better than garver.

    Sounds great. We already signed dylon Bundy. We have room for the 3 you mentioned. One or two could be on one year contracts. Total cost for starters 36 million. Total spent 134 million. Room for one closer.

    Arraez has many more positions he can play. We shouldn't make the same mistake as last year. And get someone who can't hit. Arraez has above the league average in both obp and avg. How about trying to use Gordon. He may not quite be the fielder we need. But he only played half a season. Double his numbers he not bad. He would then have 20 plus sb's.
