    What a difference being in a pennant race makes.I have not given one thought to who might be playing in the Arizona fall league. Gordon, Gonzalves who else may go?

    I will be surprised if Molitor does not win the manger of the year award. While some have issues with his methods I think results is what a manager should be judged on. This team plays hard, aggressive sometimes misguided baseball and will end up as the 5th best record in the American league. No need to switch managers.

    I thought they might bunt until I saw Vargas in the batters box. He did not have a good game. Besides hitting into the double play he dropped a throw at first base in the 8th that should have been a double play. Twins got out of the inning but Smoak would not have batted in the 9th had Vargas caught that throw in the 8th.

    It started with skipping Slegers. He was listed as the probable pitcher a couple days ago. If he had started Twins probably lose.

    Thanks for doing all the research. The other player who had 10 home runs for Fort Myers was a solid MLB hitter - Todd Walker

    I enjoy the games more when he pitches and I think the team does also.I hope they bring him back next year. One year deal.

    Two things that I thought were different from the old regime was: 1. Absorbing salary on a trade to get better prospects with THE YANKEES Ryan never was aggressive that way 2. Being creative in the draft to have the money to go over slot to grab the high school pitcher that they liked Everything else felt like business as usual except as a couple posters mentioned a lot quicker hook.

    Don't know if this is where I should post this but I just saw where Melvin Upton opted out of his minor league agreement. Good defense- runs well - hits better against lefties- I think we still have one 40 man roster spot- I could see being able to use him since Sept 1st. is so close. Any thoughts?

    Molitor likes aggressive play so he does give Rosario a longer leash

    Very Interesting that Melville was once a top 100 prospect. Why not bring him up.

    I don't think they can go full blown minor league players when they are 3 1/2 out of the second wild card. The players that have played hard and not quit deserve that. It would be like punting on third down. Now in September it may be a different story

    Every time I read trade Dozier and play Polanco at 2B - I cringe. I really think we should wait until you can see if Polanco can hit consistently and with some power. I would not trade Dozier. The offers seem underwhelming for a very good player who wont be a payroll buster when he hits free agency. If there is tepid trade interest I doubt that there will be a major bidding war when he hits free agency.

    Best chance may be Oakland relievers. They have a couple more. But does not look like a match with the rest of the division

    7. We may have a long relief man to soak up innings in case of a short start- whoever gets bumped from the rotation

    I would shop Rosario and Kepler and see if I can get some pitching for one of them. Looks like Granite is ready or his chance. You have to trade from surplus and that is the only possible surplus I see right now.

    What pitcher could you get for Rosario? I don't think swapping Granite and Rosario helps that much. But if you could trade Rosario for a decent pitcher I may be interested.

    I do not think the three shortstops mentioned- Beckham, Justin Upton and Matt Bush are all that bad. I wish we had all three of them. Article made them sound like a bust
