    The Twins are a clown show on the bases. With two outs what the hell is he thinking?

    He’s got a funky little move with his throwing hand prior to release sometimes - like his hand slides under the ball and the ball sails. I hope his arm is still recovering because if this is it we’ve got a problem.

    Agree. The defense wouldn’t be great but sufficient if they turn into above average hitters. Will be interesting to see what happens. I like that they are both going to get an extended run so we can let their play decide. I do think the chance that both end up as plus hitters is less than 50%.

    And after their TV deal is stabilized / enhanced. I don’t know this is the exact scenario but anyone that dismisses it is naive.

    Will be interesting to see if he gets exclusive run at SS there as they have DeBarge Winokur and DeAndrade all having played some SS.

    At least we are going to find out. Both have to hit better or this question answers itself. I will say that Royce looks better in the field this year. Lee is a funny one - he looks most comfortable at SS but his range will prevent him from being anything but slightly below average. He is surehanded but looks less comfortable at 3rd and 2nd where he could be acceptable and in theory should be easier. Definitely hoping Culpepper can be the answer.

    Good thinking. Loved Tucson. By the time I left I was actually hoping for a few clouds to roll by.

    Hatch looks like he wants a spot next year. I think Wallner should retool his swing. He has so much power he could eliminate the leg kick and still hit it a mile.

    The Twins have been a PR nightmare for a long time. This episode falls right in line with that history. You know the old business saying “know your customer “? They don’t.

    There is a way forward to be successful relatively quickly but it will require some out of the box thinking and a couple of astute trades. Those two requirements may deem this impossible but here goes. If the Twins have a surplus of talent it would be pitching and they need a couple of bats badly. So deal López for a good cost controlled bat, preferably an outfielder who is athletic, can play defense and doesnt need to be platooned. Trade Larnach and and a prospect (maybe Julien?) for a bat first first baseman. With this new outfielder and Keaschall in the lineup we now have some speed and athleticism. With Pablo’s salary gone we should be in a stable position to hang onto our younger players through arbitration and maybe extend a couple. Now for the out of box thinking: grab your 15 best pitchers regardless of current role. The first 5 are your starters, the next two go to St Paul for the depth you will need at some point. The next 8 go to the pen. It’s Maki’s job to get enough innings for the younger guys that they could still stretch out and start later in the year if needed or next spring training. Think Abel or Bradley for example. This is a team that could be competitive next year and really good in a couple years. When / if Em Rod or Jenkins need a spot Wallner DH s or is traded. Lee gets SS until Culpepper is ready.

    Tough one. Greenes grab at the wall on Buck was a huge play. Julien had a really nice - made a couple nice plays at first.
