  1. Ok Rocco wouldn’t let a lefty hit against a lefty last year to save his life. Now we have Kiersey hitting against a lefty in a tie game. He had no chance.
  2. There is potential there but I think you are correct about fans overestimating him. He’s never been good enough that you would say certain big leaguer.
  3. I saw that comment as well. I don’t get it - you are a pro athlete and are 10 lbs over weight?
  4. I actually agree with this idea. Why not have a promising young pitcher occupy the last couple spots in the pen instead of the retread vets? The whole “gotta keep em stretched out” theory isnt really valid anymore. Keep them stretched out so they can go 4.2 innings? You could have Festa and Sim or Mathews pitching 3 innings twice a week and save other arms while getting rid of marginal pitchers like Alcala and Funderburk.
  5. I like this thought process. Pitching roles are changing as we speak. If you forget all the traditional roles there are ways to get innings out of your best pitchers in a variety of ways.
  6. Royce’s running right now is not good. I wonder how healthy he is.
  7. I felt the same way about Pablo and then you look at his line and it is pretty good.
  8. For once my memory was accurate. Boy would we take a Butch Wynegar on the Twins right now. I remember a game against the Angels I think where Butch got a moth in his ear and the game was delayed quite a bit. Gene Mauch was the manager of the Angels and was throwing a fit. Not sure why that sticks in my mind…… Thanks for this. I hope you do one on Bostock and Joe Cambria.
  9. I propose we get rid of the city connect jerseys.
  10. This is a good idea. There are enough non team specific topics that a talented writer could get exposure across all of these related sites.
  11. The point of my post is a mediocre player on a good contract doesn’t get you closer to winning. Good players get you closer to winning especially at a position where offensive production is important. These good players can be obtained in a variety of ways so you can skip your lecture about how mid market teams acquire players.
  12. I think your reading comprehension is lacking. You don’t need to tell me how I feel about France so see you later.
  13. Here, here. Hoping Buck is back and neither have any long term consequences. I can’t get the thought out of my mind how badly Mauer and Morneau were affected by their concussions. It took quite a while and I don’t think either were ever the same after. Both probably had more previous brain trauma then Correa or Buxton so maybe it’s different. Anyway should be a great weekend at Target Field.
  14. Maybe they will start giving out a trophy at the end of the year for most WAR per payroll dollar spent.
  15. Hmmm apparently you didn’t read this part of my post.
  16. Sometimes we just need to take a step back and get out of the weeds. This specific situation aside if you can’t give McCusker a legit chance now with his production at AAA and the lineup they are rolling out there, when will you be able to do it?
  17. I think this is a false question. France is meeting what is reasonably expected of him at a low price. So good for Ty France - I’m not going to be critical of him. However it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t expect much more from this position. I know they aren’t signing Pete Alonzo but they can make a trade or develop one a first baseman that can hit. I reject the premise that “good value” from France is anything we should celebrate or even accept.
  18. Cleveland CF with a horrible route on that ball. Goes sideways and then can’t catch up to it.
  19. Why do I feel like I’ve spent a lot of time over the last 15 years watching Carl Willis stroll to the mound?
  20. Well if you can’t slide you can’t play baseball.
