    Good grief I hope so. I've said it a million times - the biggest problem isn't the tight payroll, it's the complete inability to develop a single position player. Name a hitter that has even lived up to expectations, let alone exceeded them. Jeffers maybe?

    People with the kind of wealth the Pohlads possess tend to be tone deaf to what 99.9% of the population thinks, feels, experiences. Little Joe seemed to take that "tone deafness" to an entirely new level.

    And that's the problem right?....both best suited for DH. Both really bad OFers. I think they love Wallner's strong arm, but his throwing metrics really aren't good....teams run on him and I think it might be b/c he lumbers to the ball. I like the kid. But he's not an OF.

    It escapes me why the organization didn't start Wallner's transition to 1B two years ago. Maybe it's not just that easy. But Kody Clemens.....

    Sad but true. I've reached a point where I don't buy into a single thing Falvey says. He talks to media like he thinks the fans are stupid. I suspect he's acting on the wishes of ownership, but the statement about not trading any of Buxton, Ryan, Pablo and then about "adding" wreaks of someone who thinks such statements will sell tickets. Bottom line is this....even with these "adds" he talks about we're still talking about a payroll roughly $30-35 million LESS than two years ago. That's not "adding".

    I wonder if he could trim it down to a slider/change mix if he's used in more traditional bullpen roles....one inning at a time.

    "Culpepper was pencilled in at third base in Basseball America's future Twins outlook, with Royce moving to... FIRST BASE. At some point the Twins have to make decisions at lower levels on the playing position projection of their players and stick with it." And I don't hate it.....

    Love the idea Cody. This concept would assume a trade is to make the Twins better and not just be a cost-cutting move. Like a lot of others, I wonder what Ober's value would be after 2025. I think the return would be low enough that I might just bet on a rebound from him. IMO, if you can deal SWR and get a player that fits into and makes the lineup better - RH hitting 1B, RH hitting corner OF that can back up Buxton, good BP arm, I would pull the trigger on that. He's out of options, so it's ML rotation or bust. And, I could be wrong, but I just don't think he has much more upside than what he's show.

    Crazy theory. There is a lot of talk of moving some SP candidates to the bullpen. The risk, of course, is you basically give up on them as starters then. The risk of not doing it is is you don't have your best available arms on the 26-man. Last year at St.Paul there was a lot use of "piggybacks". MLB teams are always looking for a new advantage. I wonder if we may see more of these SP make the 26-man and more use of piggybacks at the MLB level. It would mitigate, at least a little bit, the need to completely rebuild the bullpen as the assumption would be there would then be fewer innings for a pen, SWR has shown he's basically a 4-5 inning guy. None of Festa, Zebby, Bradley have proven to be more than that either. What if the rotation looks like Lopez....Ryan.....Ober.....SWR/Zebby as the piggyback.....Bradley/Festa as the piggyback. Something like that. To help save the traditional bullpen arms you have, Lopez and Ryan could even be split up by a day or two.

    Because we're Minnesota sports fans and, as such, have come to just assume the worst. Maybe rightfully so.....

    No. Just....no. I'm not sure which is the bigger reason for the "no, the fact that he's not a MLB level hitter for any position or the fact that he's a hatchet in the field. Just time to let Eddie try again for another organization.

    No one knows for sure, but I really like the Sizemore hiring. Also thought the Hawkins hiring makes a lot of sense. And I think adding Gardenhire to the big league staff is smart.

    To me Prielipp and Festa are the most obvious high-upside guys. Similar story to Duran in terms of injuries. Bradley also makes a ton of sense....he just hasn't shown enough ability/consistency as a starter but if he can trim his arsenal to two pitches, he might be solid in the pen as well. I wanna see Zebby starting for another season. I hope Abel shows enough to threaten the rotation on opening day.

    Early in his career Hawk made the transition from starter to reliever as well. He has experience in all things this team will need to build a bullpen from scratch.

    Falvey is always the smartest guy in the room, just ask him....that's why he talks to us and reporters like we're not-very-smart and can't see what he's really saying. To change his mindset would be to admit mistakes. And that is never going to happen.

    I mean.....how many candidates do we really think wanted to come here? The phrase "beggars can't be choosers" comes to mind. Was hoping for Servais, but Falvey was never going to hire anyone who might question him, his analytics nerds or their computer printouts.
