  1. Grumble, grumble...trade him!....grumble, grumble...cheap Pohlads...grumble, grumble...trade everyone....the sky is falling...grumble, grumble.... :)
  2. Time to find out what the young arms can do. Only reason IMO to sign a guy like Giolito is if the plan was to move a Festa-type to the bullpen....then the plan can still play out.
  3. Sink or swim, he's another guy I'm anxious to see get an extended run this season. This club is not winning anything this year. Time to see if there's a future with a bunch of these guys....Abel, Bradley, Festa, Matthews, Lews, Lee, Keaschall, Wallner, etc....
  4. I've said all along that 2026 needs to be about finding exactly what they have with a number of players. Any trade for a starter needs to be for someone with team control for multiple seasons. I'm in favor of seeing what they have in guys like Abel, Bradley, Festa, Matthews along with Ober, SWR, Ryan.
  5. SO tantalizing as a starter. A move to the bullpen just seems like the most responsible move for all parties. He's so talented it feels like the Twins HAVE to get something from him and the 'pen seems like the most sure-fire way to do that.
  6. No matter what Tom Pohlad thinks, this is not a contending team...not even for a WC spot. BUT... I do think 2026 could be very beneficial for the future. One way or another, we are going to have answers on a lot of mid-20s players. Lewis, Lee, Wallner, Larnach, Roden, Abel, Bradley, Matthews, SWR, etc., are going to show where they do (or don't?) stand moving forward.
  7. At 26, I think his path forward is clear given where and why he's struggled. It's the 'pen for me.
  8. Precisely. Developing a bunch Simeon Woods-Richardsons does not constitute a "pipeline". Hopefully there is some better arms coming...
  9. I agree to a point. In terms of spending, unrealistic expectations, etc., yes they did. However, under Falvey the Twins' player development has been anemic at best. That, not the lack of overspending, has been their biggest issue.
  10. I don't mind the move. No risk. Some potential upside...emphasis on "potential". Easily expendable if/when it doesn't work out.
  11. ....Jeff Hoffman...Tyler Wells as a starter...Trevor Megill...Yennier Cano............
  12. Thank you for not putting Outman on there. An I think I'd rather see Prielipp in the pen than Klein
  13. Hey Tom....I'll be skinny. See, saying it out loud doesn't make it true!
  14. Simply put....they have to replace him with someone from an organization that showed itself capable of developing players through the major league roster.
  15. FO and ownership says they think the team can compete in the division. Whether that's delusional or not remains to be seen. Keeping both catchers follows the preferred path for Falvey. I 100% think they will carry out the plan to start the season. The trade deadline, however, is another matter.....
  16. I wonder what the over/under on Orlando Arcia starts at SS is??
  17. Well-deserved. Met him on the caravan several years ago. Nice guy.
  18. At that price, I see exactly zero downside. If he posts same or similar numbers to last year, it's a bargain. The fact that it's a "homecoming" is just a nice little side bonus.
