  1. If he's choosing from four teams he's not signing for the minimum, which would make sense for the Twins if they could move Farmer. I just dont see the need given the current roster.
  2. He's likely the best bet to get a top half of the rotation starter I'd guess. Thought they should think about keeping Polo to play 2B this year...with Lee or Martin waiting in the wings. Maybe Polo being gone doesnt change that?
  3. Couldn't agree more. For an organization that saw enough value in Julien to trade Polanco, they should be able to see enough value in Martins approach as well.
  4. Just look at the picture.....geez, the kid is only 18 and already LOOKS the part!! Then watch video of the swing. IMO Walker Jenkins is untouchable in trade talks.
  5. The idea of this kid coming out of the bullpen in October is pretty intoxicating.
  6. The ability of our beloved Minnesota Twins to be consistent contenders will depend on their ability to develop players....both pitching and position players. I think 2024 is the time to see if Austin Martin can play at the MLB level or not. He may go up and down multiple times...like Tori Hunter did for example, but I want to see him get minimum 200 ABs this season. If/when Buxton has to miss extended time, I want this kid to be the relacement. Time to take off the training wheels.
  7. For me, could've stopped after the first two. Stuff+ and Age. Enough said. As he better learns all of the other aspects of pitching, I believe he'll be just fine.
  8. As a 56-year old, lifelong Twins fan....who also has been scarred by bullpen ineptitude for chunks of the past decade, I just assume the answer is no. But...let's hope yes!!
  9. Does this mean Provus is going back to radio? :) If I basically can't watch them, I'd much rather listen to him than Atteberry.
  10. Classic example of a low-risk, high-reward signing....which I'm always in favor of!
  11. To be clear, Gabby Gonzalez is likely the big ticket item in this trade. Love Polo as much as anyone but, from a baseball and business perspective, the trade makes sense on so many levels.
  12. Want a contrarion ideal? Play Polanco at 2B until Lee is ready and trade Julien for a contollable #2 starter
  13. I think Funderburk is now in that phase of his career where he will be a constant member of the bullpen. Time at AAA will only be for rehab assignments or if he needs a quick "reset". Kid has nothing left to prove at AAA and has shown he can consistently get MLB hitters out. Put his name in ink coming out of ST.
  14. Tough call. I think organizationally, they're better off if Miranda returns to health and 2022 form so that he can platoon with Kiriloff at 1B and DH some.. Polanco can play 2B against lefties, maybe DH some to keep him healthy.
  15. Do we know which version of the surgery he had?
  16. That's it! Doc hit it on the head. Atteberry "tries too hard". Don't tell me the first baseman's toes are "tickling the grass"...just tell me the infield is pulled in. It's baseball, not ballet. We know he's in on the grass if you say he's "pulled in". If Atteberry can stick to basics he'll be fine. I'll still listen.
  17. Preach. I'd say Gordo was better than "satisfactory" but agree Provus is better. Provus is outstanding. But growing up listening to Herb and that velvet voice....that's Twins on the radio for me
  18. Provus is a slam dunk, knock it out of the park replacement. With all due respect, Atteberry isn't my cup of tea. He deserves this shot though, but I'll miss listening to Provus on the radio. One thing...can someone explain to me how we can promise no blackouts when we don't even have a TV contract??
  19. The Gray replacement comes via trade. 100%. Wouldn't mind a FA addition to bolster the back end of the rotation and provide insurance for Paddock.
  20. With payroll to be somewhat limited, I HIGHLY doubt they invest much FA money into a 1B.
  21. I'd guess it'll be Provus. He's SO good. As someone who still enjoys listening to games on the radio, I'd hate to see him move. I'll admit I'm not a big Atteberry fan.
  22. My opinion, which if you have it and a buck you can get a cup of coffee at the 7-11, is that Balezovic needs to be returned to starting. Doesn't seem like his stuff plays up in a bullpen role. In the 'pen he's just a guy. Injuries derailed the development as a starter. I'd like to see him given one more year there.
