I don't think our front office is smart enough to pull off a blockbuster trade. They'll take whatever the Mets offer and then try to sell it as a "coup". I.E., see Alan Rhoden and James Outman trades.

    It worked in 1982............just saying

If Clemens is our 1B and Julien is even on the team, we're sunk.

For this FO, it's all about the $$$$

If Hunter can stay on the ballot for the next few years, he'll build a better resume when looked at by the Veteran's committee. Great player. Not quite great enough.

Are we at the point where we are looking at Pittsburgh castoffs?

Three hitting coaches? No wonder we hit .238

Best move in the last three years

He's already got two strikes against him: 1. An owner that won't spend money, 2. An inept front office that stocks the roster with Mickey Gasper and Ed Julien types.
  10. JBK
    No Gasper!!!

Our starting pitching is our only strength. Why tear that apart too? That would be irresponsible.

I think greatness is tied to winning. Forget the analytics. I'll go with Greg Gagne. Steady. Dependable. A leader. And something no other Twins SS can claim: a winner.

    No comparison. Move on. Sell

If Falvey does the hiring, we can expect the same as under Rocco.

C: Jeffers Infield: 1B Wallner, 2B Keaschall, 3B Lewis, SS Lee Outfield: Buxton, Rodriguez & Jenkins DH: Larnach Let's go 1982 all over again. Mix in the rookies with the young core and a couple veterans and LET THEM PLAY!

LVP? Derrick Falvey and everyone named Pohlad.

That last sentence is the world we live in

Any Twins roster that includes Gasper is a sure lock to win 40 games and draw below 1M in attendance. How he is still thought of as a catcher is beyond me. He was on the roster for 70% of the season while hitting a robust .158 with a 37 OPS+. What a sad operation we've got here.

What is with "Strauss" on the side of the batting helmets? Has MLB sold out to advertisers? It's a bad look IMO

Joe wasn't all that popular in his final years.

I've always thought Torii Hunter would be a great candidate for manager. Nelson Cruz could be hitting coach and Paul Molitor as base running/infield/bench coach. You don't need TWO hitting coaches.

    FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. JBK
That's EXACTLY how the conversation went

Nice article. Lots of forgotten players and deals mentioned. As a lifelong Twins fan, I've always been optimistic every Spring that our players will have career years, and the team will win it all. The Pohlads have drained my optimism and it's time for them to sell. If the owner doesn't have the passion and the will to win, how do you expect the front office and team to have it? Please sell. The Twins are more than just a tax write off.

What can fans expect? A parade
